  1. On a shoot out at Dunedin Airport. There were lovely skies on the day, I

wanted a nice shot of the entrance but it was a tad too crowded. This

was the cleanest composition I could manage on the day. Processed

using ACR. Appreciate any critique/ratings. Cheers!

This is a great shot Brian - a famous monument from an unusual point of view. The exposure is great and there's lovely detail everywhere. Excellent shot.

    Thanks,

  2. Cows grazing, on the way from Dunedin to Dunedin Airport. I must be

doing something wrong in digital PP, because I've got a .psd file here

with lovely dynamic range, and between converting it to .jpg and

uploading it here, I lose so much detail.. Oh well.

    What the??

This is a fence post, or something, sitting at the edge of a farm, in Otago,

New Zealand. The day was a furiously windy one, with really dramatic, low

hanging clouds filling the sky. This made for some really neat lighting.

    Thanks for your comments/ratings.

  3. A 20 min, somewhat steep track to "Tunnel Beach", just south of

Dunedin in the South Island of New Zealand. This track leads to some

very cool rock formations, and a short, small tunnel that opens out to a

little sandy beach. Great walk down. Tiring walk up.

  4. Taken at the end of a 30min walk towards Nicols Falls, in Leith Valley,

just north of Dunedin. Beautiful walk, and lovely mossy rocks with water

flowing between them. Taken with a Nikon D700, and a Nikkor 28/2.8.

    Thanks for visiting!

  5. Sidsel, Eric, thank you for your kind words.

Eric, no filter was used - this was shot with a naked lens, tripod, 30s exposure at f/22, focused at the hyperfocal distance.

I added sharpening (a little motion - the surf coming in caused the tripod to shift very slightly before the exposure was completed), and I added a little upwards-gradient along the bottom edge of the shot - just to lend some gravity to the image.

    Thanks again,

Wow that's very, very good.. Aside from the great shadows and play of light, I think the best thing about this shot is the way the mountains cut across the frame in a diagonal.. I think that really gives the shot an extra punch!

    Great shot - thank you.
