  1. Taken in a back alley in Dunedin. Left my camera on a tripod on the other

side of the street, ran across, and held perfectly still for the 10s

    exposure...

    Intersect

A street corner in the town I live in, a somewhat rundown area with some

very dramatic old buildings. Taken at sunset, in some very very lucky

    light.

These are the St. Clair Groynes, in Dunedin, New Zealand. Taken after

sunset, with a Nikkor 180/2.8 and my Nikon D700. Post-processed in

    Lightroom.

    Hi Vikas,

Great shot! The positioning of the tree is very well thought out, and the exposure is spot-on, to capture the ethereal feel of the place...

    All the best,

    Lake Mapourika

          3

The Jetty on Lake Mapourika, on New Zealand's West Coast, a short way

north of the Franz Josef Glacier. This was taken shortly after sunrise, with

a polarising filter, and a grad filter to cut the sky a little...

    Thanks for dropping by!

These are the St. Clair Groynes, my favourite subject in Dunedin. This is

an abstract take on a much photographed Dunedin icon. Taken at sunset,

    with a longish exposure.

    Eglinton Valley

    Best viewed larger.

This is Eglinton Valley at Dawn, in New Zealand's Fiordland National

Park, on the road to the amazing Milford Sound. HDR, processed in CS5

    and Lightroom.

    Orion RIsing

Taken about half an hour after sunset, from the Otago Peninsula near

Portobello, looking over the water to Dunedin. Orion just rising in the sky.

    Thanks for visiting!

  2. Haha! Interesting comments from both of you - because when my friend and I left the beach after our shoot, it was because both our hands were numb from the cold, and it just stopped being fun! It was quite a cold evening, but the sunset was dazzling!

  3. Hi Shaun,

Thanks for the comments - I agree, the bird does look a bit cramped! The idea behind this was to emphasise the curves and lines of the bird, but I'm not sure what you could do with an image like this - use it in a publication? Print and hang up on a wall?

Anyway - thanks for dropping by!

  4. I captured about five shots of these two birds in the space of 3s. I got one,

just before this one, with both the pairs of wings in exactly the same

position - incredibly lucky shot. Just then, my otherwise infallible D700

Autofocus system decided to focus on the horizon instead of the front bid,

    and I lost the shot.

Would be keen to know what you think of this one though! - Thanks!
