Excellent shot. My favorite type of spider. It looks like it could go a little lighter but still nice.

Gives me a little bit of a chill... Good work!

Excellent Holga shot! Composition is perfect for this subject.
-
Not sure how I stumbled across this, but I like the shot. Couldn't resist, however, adjusting the levels and curves and hitting it with "auto color". Hope you don't mind.

Well-seen and nicely composed. The high contrast blows out the highlights a little in the upper left-hand corner of the building but that isn't a problem because high-contrast helps pop the window colors. Lowering the contrast might be more realistic, but that would be a different photo. Good shot.

I like this a lot-- the scene brings back memories. It is a little washed out but I tried to bump contrast and saturation in PS to no avail. Good captrue, overall.

I guess I like it with the border all the way around. Regardless, very nice shot and a good Holga subject in its simplicity.

I think this one is great! Excellent composition, especially considering you weren't looking through the viewfinder.
It's a little blurry. Maybe a tripod... just kidding! Nice shot.

I agree with the other posters-- excellent shot! A slightly darker sky might be a little more dramatic but this is still well done with a nice tonal scale.

Excellent shot with nice graphic impact. The grain and the exposure for silhouette really work well here.
-
Great colors and composition. I like your style.

Probably my favorite of your new Holga stuff. Has kind of an abstract quality. The straight on, flat composition suggests a vintage shot.

I like this a lot. I think carnivals are great places for Holga photography. The colors and composition are excellent here.

I like the Holga effect.
You've certainly captured an obese person walking in the direction of food. I'm just not sure what the statement is here. That a lot of people are obese? That obese people eat?
If you were able to give us some photographic insight into this woman's life and her struggle with her crippling weight, then I would consider this an excellent photograph. Did you, by any chance, talk to her?

Hmmmm...certainly has nice colors. And the composition is good. I'm not sure why the background is blue and the foreground is red. The kayak/kayaker looks a little dark on my monitor. I'm not sure of the purpose of the underwater structure in the composition. The wake of the boat looks a little funny-- dare I say-- unnatural? Curious...

Thanks for the info. I like ths shot more each time I look at it. Good work.

I think it is excellent as is. Nice composition and great colors. Well-done! Where in Hawaii was this taken?

I see your point, but, for me, the image looked funny from the start. The blurs didn't seem to make any sense on first viewing, which made it difficult to suspend my disbelief. And, in a fantasy image like this, you have to be able to suspend your disbelief. As someone pointed out in the thread on the POW I referenced above, it is like seeing the boom mike in a movie. Suddenly, you're no longer on a South Sea island, but on the backlot at MGM.
I really like the composition (I tend to compose like this myself) and I think this is what a lot of people react to here on a gut level. It's just that it is too easy to see the man behind the curtain (another movie reference)...

I agree with those who say the idea is good but the image fails in execution. I can't see any reason for the blurred horizon other than to hide the cut and paste of the sky. Reminds me of the POW a few months back with all of the cloned boats-- once the PS work becomes apparent, everything falls apart. I guess the moral is if you're going to use PS for major manipulation, you'd better be good at it.
I'm disappointed in all of the gushing as well and glad I'm not alone in thinking that this work is a little slipshod.

Another excellent shot. You should post more.

Excellent shot. The zone plate is used to good effect here. How long was the exposure?
