This is fantastic and the motion blur is a great element in creating the mood. I wonder if a strobe could be used selectively to emphasize some detail that you would like to focus on. I don't mean this as a critique; it is more of a creative challenge for fun.

The nice thing about this is that there are layers of texture. From the soft veil, to the sharp veil, to the hair on her face, the texture makes this image very tactile. I like it a lot.

Actually the shadows don't bother me at all. I don't think the shadows are a question of professionalism. My first thought was that the light on the faces Was nicely balanced with the sunlight and background. It may be desirable do get light in all of their eyes if you want to be particular about classical portrait style, but that could be done by asking the guy in this picture to rotate his body toward the light just a few degrees. Or you could position the light you are using closer to center and higher. The sun in the hair and the soft background are very nice. This is very much a "lifestyle" look. Most people who say they don't like traditional portraits love this kind of thing.
  1. This shot stands out because the window light is being used perfectly from a "formal portrait" perspective. The light really gives this subject a 3 dimensional element that is very satisfying. The light in the eyes also makes t really sing. Nice light:-)

i like the composition and the closeness of it. The only thing I would do is bring the exposure way up. By the time you do that you might also find that clipping the blacks will give it some punch. Nice detail and thanks for your critique of mine!! Keep em' comin'.

You are absolutely right. The two flood lights in the middle draw to much attention. Luckily that falls within the range of my photoshop skills;-)

Lots of fun. I think the cartoonish appearance of the figures is really charming and original. This is more of an illustration than a photo, which is very unique and interesting.
