Just gorgeous. Makes you remember what the skies were like before we went crazy with security and street lights.

The motion of the woman is counteracted by the too-balanced composition. A few seconds later or earlier with her towards the side might have improved it.

But I was trying for a natural look! guess that didn't work :)

The Roswell nuts will have a field day with this one! Very creative!

Posted this last week as an HDR (from 5 exposures). this is from just
one exposure. The HDR one is in the Hoboken and Jersey City folder in
my portfolio, side by side with this one
Would be curious which one people prefer.

beautiful abstraction. I really have to use my tripod more!

Interesting image. Why are all the candles there? is it some sort of memorial?

I've come to use HDR almost exclusively lately because of thefrustration of inevitable contrasts with bright sky and deep shadows that eludes good exposure all together. Although using photoshop or a similar product would let you treat the sky and buildings as different layers with different exposure to balance it out.

The child just pops out of the darkness. beautiful work

Thanks. What I liked was the man's bright white suit against the somewhat muted colors. BW would lose that for me.

Thanks! This started out as color of course and the windows were almost invisible. Some Photoshop levels work made it a big difference. I was looking for a twilight zone quality.

I know. I noticed that about the electric box too. Not so much the rule of thirds, but dividing the pic in half makes it more static. I can see it was a grab shot. I do really like it though. Great black and white tones and detail.
