Rose, your thinking is good, except even my Dad's new 400mm couldn't get a bead on my place...
Oddly, we don't have as many visits by woodpeckers (just knuckleheads) some 10 miles west of Dad's house.
Kinda surprised no one picked up on (prolly not familiar with, I guess) the Bawlamer institution that is Cafe Hon, as represented on the coffee cup.

Todd, that set of 3 shots is really good. I love the 2nd one especially. Angular minimalism! Bring it!

good stuff. I bet you could coerce Ann with a rent increase if she doesn't give you the option to permanently put a tripod up in her quarters to get these shots.
400mm Sigma? I think it's time to ask again: Is the will all up-to-date? Especially since we've all agreed on the obit headshot?

Why, that's a fiiiiiine lens, mis! As you can see, in the hands of a talented photog like Paul, it can do wonders.
In my hands, it makes me look like I only need to read the manual a few more times...

Aw, I'm a little sad about the comments in the next thread about POW, but anyway, here's just one I snapped this
morning.
At 4:17AM on Saturday morning, my 7 yr. old came into our room to alert us to the vicious thunderstorm that was
brewing. Apparently, the storm caused a fire, and here's a shot I liked, so I made it a bit more dastardly in pp.<div></div>

What, you got a better pic to use for your obit? Didn't think so. Heck, she'll get credit for the photo, but don't I get some for the idea?

Wow, he's persistent!
BTW, Matt: We're all just pretending he's there to see Clara. The truth is that you're LOOKING at the bugs: inside that nice, soft underbelly...

Aye Carumba!
What was that post on your blog Justin? About bench-pressing, and thinking you can just jump right in at the weight you left off at years ago?
And what about the budget for a tripod that will not get spaghetti-legs at the sight of this thing?

My Dad and I split the cost of the $60 Spyder. Works great. You may want to check out pluses and minuses of the different systems over in the Digital Darkroom forum.

There there, Javier... doesn't that feel better? Getting that off your chest? And you mis! How proud I am that you can let those feelings OUT! Heretical or not, you seem lighter and more at ease.
Speaking of light, if you get all that stuff, Dad, you can re-purpose your fly-fishing vests. Now your pockets will be full of wireless gear, and maybe you'll be able to avoid the modem issues you experienced last week. Who needs leaders, plugs and bugs anyway?
Ready for the shoot-out. How is that measured, BTW? Number of focused shots at 12 paces? Pixel-peeping on the monitors post-duel?

I think I need to lend my Sigma 70-300 APO to you, Dad. I use it so much: Sports, mucking about in streams,
festivals... it's definitely my outdoor lens, and worth every one of the 195 smackaroos I paid for it. I'm no purist, so I
use the heck out of the (excuse me Justin) "macro" switch. I have never pixel-peeped, so don't know nuthin' 'bout no
softness or CA at either focal length or dof extreme (or in between, for that matter).
I was convinced by the test shots from Adam Wilson's refrigerator (http://www.photo.net/pentax-camera-forum/00Ob6w),
and never looked back.

Wow, I do love so many this week! Enough to feel overwhelmed and outclassed. Maria: The "first try" is really well done. Tasteful, and doesn't look like you went overboard. Top!
Paw took my oldest out for fishing today (and left his brand-spanking new K20D still in the box at home), so I joined them later. Sid loved it all, and even managed to catch a decent-sized crayfish.<div></div>

Awesome shots, mis! It's so easy to overlook the noise at 700 pixels wide...
Your description of Cello Chix reminds me of Ethel (http://www.ethelcentral.com/about-band.html), whom I first saw when they opened for - wait for it, mis - Joe Jackson. Great stuff!
Sorry gang: In the realms of music and photography, gotta go with what I know.
-
Duane: Thanks for the comments! I took over 300 shots at the pow-wow, and kept over 50% (clearly, I think too highly of my skills...). I saw some amazing sights, and it was torture to limit my postings for the POW(-wow?) thread.

You know, Dad, I think it's time to come clean. Mis has presented too good of an offer to refuse, and I've
adopted him as my brother.
Dad, I hope you'll forgive me in notifying you in this - perhaps the most 21st century of media (short of a text
message).
Mis: You're welcome to the guest room. Thanks for increasing the trust fund that you come with, and don't worry:
We'll work out any other logistical barriers when you get here.
