    -Taking it easy-

          14

Once again apologies for my late reply to you all. Thank you all so much for your visits and all the encouraging comments left here on this capture of mine.

Ruud Albers: Thanks again for your visit, lovely comment and support.

Mike Palermiti: Thank you as well as your technical point of view. Unfortunately I do not have a 1000mm lens and even if I had we could not move further away since we are not allowed off the roads in the Kruger National Park unless in demarcated areas.I know what you mean and did wish the same at the time, but...........

Vivi Blu: Thank you for your visit at my Port. Nope, not scary at all since we were in our own vehicle and we always make sure that as soon as any animal decides to come closer out of curiosity we close our windows a bit more. Remember as well that most animals are actually more scared of you than what you are off them in the wild.

Radu Carp: I laughed when you mentioned what could be in his mind? Let me take a guess................: "Woman, how many more photos are you going to capture of me ? ha ha ha ha.

Warmest Regards to you all and have an awesome weekend and happy clicking.

Patsy Dunn: Thank you as well for your lovely comment on my big "Cat"

Art X: Since you are such a great photographer I feel privileged to have received such encouraging words from yourself - Thank you once again.

Grayham Allott: Quite a number of years ago hey....Only reason why the Tourist buses do not drive on the dirt roads are because the roads are rather tricky as well as slippery after the rains especially if it had rained for a couple of days. We own a Mobile home and used it all the time to go to the Kruger National Park. Now, in winter we do not get any rains as you know and we use the dirt roads 99% of the time. Summertime-Rains and then it's another story with certain dirt roads-we have had our once off silly experience of getting stuck on a uphill after driving through a riverbed - ha ha got stuck in the mud for 3 hours and NO other vehicles around and no mobile phone reception..............still giggle about it when it comes to mind. Can you imagine a huge bus full of tourists stuck in mud and the panic of "What if"

  1. Thank you all so much for your input and comments left with regard to this Male Lion. I apologize for my returning only now to thank you all but it has been a rather busy period for me lately....Hope I will be forgiven for that.

Mike Palermiti: I am also not keen about the fact of animals in a Zoo.Then again on the other hand, what if ....some animals become extinct in the wild and the only place there are still some available to breed with are the ones left over in the Zoo's. But then the Zoo should give them more space. For instance, here in South Africa we used to have an animal that looked nearly like our Zebra and it was called a "Kwagga" now they are all extinct. Very sad since if you talk about all the wildlife and mention the Kwagga to the younger generation they ask"What's that"? Something to think about maybe.

Ruud Albers: Dear friend, thank you for your input and sincere comment.

Pierre Dumas: Haha they are irresistible but my moto is "Caution"

Grayham Allott: You mention "loving" look, actually they were very relaxed since they had just eaten not so long ago. Since it's been so many years that you have last been here.........Time to come back to South Africa for a visit to the Kruger Park or what?

Divya Goyal: Thank you kindly for your much appreciated comment and visit.

Regards to all of you and have a lovely weekend Johanna

Viewed this larger as well and loved it - The ice as well as the colour and capture is beautiful. Soft focus in background is great as well. Congratulations and warmest Regards.

  2. WoW! What a beautiful capture. Lighting perfect as well as clarity and the deep colours of the earth's red tones and slight hint here and there of the vegetation's different greens. Viewed it in larger format and I would agree you did it! Congratulations and Regards.

Cute story and the Question of the 5 year old is understandable looking at the capture from this perspective. Great capture and colour of him showing off.

  3. During our visit to our Kruger National Park the week of the 17th of

October 2011 we came across two male lions on a dirt road. This was

one of the males and the proof that they had just eaten not so long ago

was still showing on the tip of his nose and hair around his face. The two

males were also very relaxed and lazy since once they have eaten they

just want to laze around like most of us humans do as well. It was one of

those Momentous moments that I often think back upon with very fond

memories. The times we spent here at the park away from "urban life" is

like a drug to me which makes me yearn for. Thank you all in advance

for sharing my life in Africa.....................

Thank you so much for your visit and comment left here. This male was one of two whom we came across in the Kruger National Park. We love driving on the gravel roads and many times have had some special occasions where we had the opportunity to be the only humans around for about two hours and no disturbance. The two males must have had a feast during the night because blood is still quite visible on the other Males nose which I will post during the course of the day. This one also has traces of blood on his hair alongside his ears and neck. They were relaxed and tummies were full...Regards Johanna

Thank you so much for your visit my friend. The water was as perfect as can be expected in the Amazon Jungle at sunset but a motorized canoe like this one came past and made the ripples which was a bonus for me. Colour and everything else is what I captured with my new Canon camera. Regards Jo

This was my first sunset in the Amazon Jungle as well as my first visit ever

in the Amazon. Those who have had the privilege of visiting the Amazon will

agree with me that the Lungs of Mother Earth is precious as well as

beautiful. The beauty and the quiet will remain in my heart forever.

Dearest Friends, thank you very much for the visits to this capture of mine which agreed is not a everyday scene one expects to find in our Kruger National Park.

Alon - Agreed as above and since it's not an everyday scene this is Africa where we still have great roaming areas for our wild.

Pierre - Thank you for your comment

Olaf - Maybe there might have been some natural salts haha

Jorge - Access to a great different world which many might envy us for and also a world which many have fallen madly in love with. So much so that you get a natural rush when you visit our Parks.

  4. -For you visit and much appreciated comment left - Thank you so much-

-Re your capture where I left my comment - It is a truly beautiful capture once again and well deserved- Warmest Regards my friend-
