jpk 7 Posted November 1, 2011 HDR is the easiest way to destroy a photo. Here we can see how HDR should be used to improve a photo... :-)Congratulations and regards. Link to comment
frameworthyink 0 Posted November 1, 2011 I agree with the other raters: this is a quality HDR...it doesn't have any of the garish, too dramatic look most have. Very nicely done, Tony. Link to comment
llgarcia 1 Posted November 1, 2011 The drama of sunrise couldn't be any better here. Magnificent landscape, Tony.Regards! - Lester Link to comment
starvy 7 Posted November 1, 2011 This really has all the drama needed to interest the viewer. Such vibrant colours too. Link to comment
john_caines 0 Posted November 2, 2011 Quite amazing how you got an HDR image to look so natural. This is truly a beautiful image. Link to comment
johnolsen 0 Posted November 2, 2011 Fabulous HDR image! Most look so fake - this is natural and the composition is wonderful. Nice color and detail. Good job on this capture. Do you remember how many stops difference there was from light to dark before you started? How many exposures did you take. Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted November 2, 2011 Sebastien, Richard G, Koushik, Jack, Thadd, Lester, Starvy, John C and John O - many thanks for your visit and the very strong support for this image. It is indeed gratifying.John Olsen: 3 images were taken in RAW format and one stop apart. I used photomatix v3 and then photoshop to make some final adjustments. I set my Nikon D300 on auto bracket and Continuous High speed shutter. This setting allows me to take the three images extremely rapidly thus minimizing any branch or water movement in the three images thus resulting in a sharper end product.I also have Photoshop CS5 and sometimes I use its HDR. I really like to get HDR to solve the light range problem but it is much trial and error to get the 'natural' results.Hope you found that info helpful. All the best, Link to comment
JimCowan 0 Posted November 4, 2011 Tony,A wonderful 'made to order sky' that supports your composition so perfectly. Good use of HDR as the foreground colour (shadow detail) really adds to this image.Jim Link to comment
