Great capture with amazing colours as well as the flower you captured. The flower behind is almost like as if it is a mirrored reflection. Congrats and thank you for sharing. Warmest Regards J

Thank you all for your welcome comments left at this capture of mine. I truly appreciate all input I received and will post the original soon to show the before effects as well.

Ok, some people might have liked this effect and then on the other hand others did not like it at all. I suppose sometimes it depends on the mood one is in when you look at your capture and how you want others to see the moment through your eyes. Moments like these in the wild of Africa are not often captured and if captured one sometimes gets carried away to share it. I will however post the original and see the reaction from those who view it.

    My best regards to all

    Johanna

    Hallo Laurent J & Raymond,

Thank you so much for your great encouraging comments left with this capture. Whilst in the Kruger National Park last month we came across quite a number of Zebra families and spent a lot of time just watching these beauties. Since it was the end of summer and just after a night's rain, a number of the males were very playful and sometimes there were 3-4 of the Males just fooling around and practicing Male Dominance.

Have a wonderful day and happy clicking over the weekend.

    Regards J

    Hi Cliff,

    I love it !!

Lions are from Africa as well as me and this female is certainly a beaut and her eyes struck me immediately as usual.

    Your cropping - Well done

Colour & Clarity - Great work

Did go and check on the original capture and my oh my, why don't you post that capture as well ? It somehow brings across the softness of the female lioness and yet she is the huntress.

Overall, Congratulations on great works done here from my amateur view.

    Regards

Radu friend, thank you so much for your continuous inspiring support. 'Twas lovely to see at least my "old time" friends and some new ones are still supporting with constructive and encouraging support (let's not talk about the ratings that are being dished out now like candy at at fete or some business trying to sell cars or furniture hehehe) ok, the Editors only know what us the old folk are talking about since I have noticed a lot of the old school before the "changes" have not posted any captures for a couple o' years now.............Warmest Regards to you and your family.

    Hallo Radu,Lester,Patsy,Steve & Art,

I want to thank you all for your visit and encouraging as well as beautiful comments left here at my "Goodnight" capture. Just by reading each and every comment of you all, I actually felt like packing my bags, cameras, husband in the motorhome and driving all the way (6 hours) back to Satara Camp in the Kruger National Park to try and take some more of these sunset scenes.

Radu - The lens I used was a Sigma 170-500mm. 'Had some bad luck with this same lens though.....The very next day after I took these sunset captures, we drove on a detoured gravel road in the Park due to storm damages from the heavy rains we had here in SA. My camera was on one of the back seats and due to trying to avoid a huge pothole and major bump my camera fell off the seat and on the floor sideways. Since then I cannot use the "AF" but can still use Manuel....Very sad this side but will see if someone can repair it for me.

Steve - Maybe when you return again you can book at "Satara Camp" where you can be guaranteed to get great sunset captured. Especially after a afternoon rain downpour and semi clear skies before sunset.

May you all have a wonderful weekend and happy hours of capturing Mother Nature in her full bloom.

    Warmest Regards

    J

Thank you so much dear Gail for your visit and comment. This as well as many others I have taken in our Kruger National Park where landscape is perfect for sunsets as well as sunrises. One sometimes have to just drive around a bit to get the typical "Thorn Tree" for background to accompany the setting of the Moon. Worth it though......

    Hallo dear friend,

Brilliant combo capture of the awakening of summer and the wintry atmosphere wanting to hang on in the mountains at the back.

    I love it.!

Brilliant work done here Art. I love it even if some may be critical about it or even turn away from it. Who knows, in years from now what our great grandchildren might look like with the warming of our planet and even no water around. If you have ever exhibited your works then this type of your works should be done more.....

Warmest Regards and keep them safe.

  1. Hi again Grayham,

Brilliant capture of these lovely feathered friends. One can immediately feel the tranquility just by looking at the whole scene and the clarity as well as color is perfect.

Thank you so much for sharing this with us as well.

    Warmest Regards

Brilliant capture as well as the awesome lightning strikes !!!

Lijah, I read your story with intense interest and phew what an exhilaration experience it must have been at the time. Just looking and studying your colours and the whole scene of the capture one can almost feel the build up of excitement. Indeed a dangerous situation you had yourself in here since many a people have died by lightning strikes. Oh, and the last bit, 4 ticks on your legs...but worth this WINNER!!!

Congratulations and thank you so much for sharing your interesting story with us all as well.

    Regards.

Awesome capture!! Looks like this Pelican has a ring for studies. Also looks like a real poser.

Simon, you captured a beautiful scene here as well and I congratulate you on a Winner. Love the "Greys" as well.

    Hallo dear Patsy,

You are most welcome, and if ever you want to take a trip to SAfrica let me know and I will gladly try and give you advice as to where to visit in your stay here since we have almost traveled and seen almost 90% of our country. Most South Africans love to travel and explore and they always start at home first and make sure they have seen their own country from North to South And East to West before visiting the rest of the World. Even if you talk to them around a barbecue they will tell you stories till 3am in the morning of all their travels and experiences in our country. Lovely sitting under the stars in the open country next to a fire and listening to the peoples experiences and tales of many years past.

    Warmest Regards

    Johanna

    Dearest Grayham & Ruud,

Thank you for taking your time to have a look at one off my many to follow "Zebra family" captures. I, myself was quite excited for the approach of our coming winter due to the long dead grass and contrast of the colours of the grass and some of the evergreen trees in the background. Hopefully, the lighting will be great as well since I would like to concentrate more on Zebras for a while. African winters are just so different compared to any other country on planet Earth. We do not have rains in winter and our days are quite pleasant.

Please do not think for a minute that maybe I am advertising for any Company, I am purely doing this because I am Proudly South African and Proud to be part of our Rainbow Nation.

May you both have an awesome day and fantastic rest of the week.

    Warmest Regards

    Johanna
