Greetings to the Editors and all my fellow PN friends as well as

    members.

I wanted to share the wonderful contrast of colours of the South African

landscape as well as the animals that roam on these plains. This

capture was taken in my favorite park in South Africa whilst on our

recent short visit. To my friends who are ex-South

Africans............Enjoy. We will be visiting these plains again as soon as

winter has set in properly and I will be taking some captures of the

African bush with my favorite Zebras again.

PS. I have done no PP work on this capture to show the blending of

    colours.

Have a wonderful weekend all and drive safe.

Hallo to you too Grayham, have to agree with you on the South African sunsets especially the ones down in Cape Town. Here where we live in the East Rand in Gauteng we have been having some awesome sunsets lately but unfortunately due to some major road works and improvements on our national roads leading to Mozambique etc. it's been a bit of a nuisance to be able to get a great capture. Too many obstacles in the way....

Thanks so much for your visit & comment and warmest regards to you and your family.

Dear Patsy, thank you once again for your visit and comment. So encouraging to still have some of the friends here that was part of the circle before the change. And yes, my Magical times of day is Sunrises & Sunsets like this one as well. Warmest Regards and may you have a wonderful  day.

Dear Art, thank you to you as well for your visit and encouraging comment. This photo that I took was just sized and cropped in Picasa 3 and I decided to leave it untouched like the title mentions. Here in South Africa we have some great sunsets especially the ones on the Atlantic Ocean side of our country. Magical is the word which many times is heard by people when passing a photographer taking their captures whilst the sun is setting. The mood at those times can be felt by many who appreciate those moments as well. Anyway, maybe if you visit our country one you will experience those sunsets as well and  understand what I meant. Have a great day today and warmest regards to you.

  1. What a Peaceful capture! I love it!

The stillness of the water with a slight hint of a breeze in the air, the two pelicans following the leader and the 4th in the back making one think that there is one rebel in the group. Their pose reflecting in the water is also something that caught my eye as usual. Your colours, clarity as well as sharpness perfect. The grass on the opposite side of the riverbank hanging over in the water yet again with it's slight hint of reflection is perfect. The small white flowers as well as the white feathers of the pelicans add a different touch to the tones of green and brown of nature as we see with the eye.

I took a closer look again and because we are nature lovers and in the KNP very often....You can even see the bottom of the river if you know what you are looking for...Well done my friend.

My honest opinion overall - You captured an Amazing scene here! 10/10

Warmest Regards and looking so forward to all the others that are to follow.

    Hallo Mike,

Indeed and thank you for your visit. Scenes like these keep me going in the city life knowing that I can just get in my car and drive there for 5 hours and then peace and quiet again for a couple of days. Off-course it's a trip we try and do every 4-5 weeks for 4-5 days.....................Regards J

  2. Dearest Patsy,Jayanti & Ruud,

Thank you all three of you as well for your keen interest shown here at "The Old Man" cloud formation.

What made me feel great is the fact that I did not even post this for comment and yet all of you were here at my Port and showed your support as well as posted your lovely encouraging comments. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that.

Have a wonderful day and warmest regards to you all.

Interesting capture, lighting, colour as well as lovely story. I have always enjoyed watching elephants and their behavior.

Asian elephants are in in many ways so different than the African elephants. Colour - The Asian elephant looks almost as if they were painted by hand and many of them and then they have freckles as well. Height - African elephants are taller than their Asian brothers and sisters.

    Warmest Regards J
