  1. Canon cameras come with DPP (Digital Photo Professional) software. Here's a link describing what it can do: Digital Photo Professional: Canon’s image processing software - Canon Professional Network
  2. It makes me feel like I might be his next meal:eek:
  3. There is a Canon forum site that may be able to answer some of your questions concerning DPP: Home - Canon Community Sorry I could not be of more help.
  4. That's a tough question to answer, as color vs black & white is a very personal choice. I often prefer b&w when it comes to different subject matters......street photography, portraiture, landscapes, still life, etc., etc. Color can often be distracting when trying to convey a message with your image. Try looking at your images both ways and see what moves you most. You might find that others will see or feel what you do as well, with a simple conversion to b&w. Some may accuse you of being old-fashion, but you're not. You're being artistic!
  5. I've never seen one with that many different colors. Ours (in central New York state) are just a light grey. Nests like these house hornets where I come from. Wasps have small honeycombed type of nests here. Indeed, the colored one in your photograph does remind me of some pottery (and woven basket) patterns.
  6. Why not buy another A1, as I love mine as well?
  7. This photo belongs on the cover of a Christmas card !!!
  8. Just a thought: Can you roll back either the lens or camera firmware to see which one actually caused the issue?
  9. This is a tough crowd............I guess it's back to the drawing board!:)
  10. I agree. This is the best I could do:
  11. Thanks for the info.........I'll check that out......much appreciated.
  12. This is off topic, but could you explain how you're digitizing your VCR tapes (perhaps in a different thread)? The "It's a lot of fun" has me very curious. Nice picture by the way!
  13. I have the non-L version which is almost identical optically. It stays on my 6D 90% of the time. I love this lens for its versatility. It was about 1/2 the price of the L when the L first came out. Now the L is only about $200 more. So for the better weather sealing and IS, it's probably worth going for the L.
  14. Good one...........you got me. You made me look again!
  15. Were adapter prices announced yet? Yes, they start at $99: Three EF-to-RF adapters available for EOS R
  16. My brother loves to eat these, but I'm not that fond of them. They grow and expire rapidly. I'm in Central New York State and the ones that grow here are very smooth on the surface, unlike yours in the photo. They can get as big as a soccer ball in just a couple of days and then die quickly after. You need to pick them quickly. It's a gamble to wait, thinking they'll get bigger!
  17. I'm glad you weren't wearing a dress in that picture!
  18. "If it's true would you buy it if the mount wasn't the EF mount we currently use?" It would have to be a game changer for me to do that. "I can't imagine Canon changing the lens mount because of the millions of Canon and 3rd party lenses currently available for the EF mount." Canon will change a mount in a heart beat if it is to their benefit.....don't ever think otherwise. They burned me when they abandoned their FD lenses, but I bit the bullet and stayed with them anyways. Companies only care about their bottom line........Sony is actually the worst of the bunch as far as dropping many of their product lines. Technology marches on and we have to deal with what's available to us, so I change when I'm forced to or when something is that much better than what I have.
  19. Be sure to read the comments after the article to understand, or not understand, what you're actually seeing. Isn't quantum physics fun?:)
  20. I've been on camera forums for many years and Eneloops are by far the most mentioned, and used, batteries for Speedlights. I use them in my flash for macro work and they've been going strong for years. Be sure to get a good (well rated) smart charger, as I think that may be the key to their long and healthy life.
  21. Perhaps another option to scanning. If you have a macro lens, you could sandwich the film between two plates of glass and with some type of light source behind it (light table, flash, etc.), take a picture of it (raw) and pp as necessary. The results may not be as good as scanning, but it may be good enough to fulfill your needs.
  22. Deer is both singular and plural.
  23. Here's a good article (pros and cons) on lens vs in-body stabilization: https://photographylife.com/lens-stabilization-vs-in-camera-stabilization
  24. Perhaps the CIE "horseshoe" is as basic as 2+2=4, and ethnicity has nothing to do with it. There's also the CIELUV of 1976: CIELUV - Wikipedia
