    The challenge

Thanks for your opinion. If the sky wouldn't have been dark the main subject would have been much flatter. Anyway I think you mean to make it just a little bit brighter. Thanks for the advice, it was very appreciated.

WOW! Thank you very much for your appreciation! To Trent, that glow are actually very high clouds. I actually don't notice blurriness from my screen, but - yes - I suppose it could be the compression.
  1. Thanks for your apppreciation. At the moment this big shelf cloud (it's the scienfic name) was coming, there were 2 paragliders in the sky. They both had big luck because they landed safely, but one was blown away for more than 30 miles!

Thank you very much Trent. I'm flattered you like my photos. Yes, it is indeed a cross the one up there. It is what gives meaning (and title) to this photo. Unfortunately it loses really a bunch seen it so small, you should see the big print, it's a spectacle.
  2. I like much the foreground of this photo, Erik. Maybe the subject is very common, but you captured it in an interesting way and in a dynamic moment. The eyes, the sight of the animal is just fantastic, it transmits joy. It is the main focus of the image and I would do something to highlight it, maybe trying to brighten in post production. The background, instead, is a bit disturbing IMHO. The foreground has all a warm, flat tone and so the contrasts are dampened. I like how the blue ball fills the space and balances the composition, but maybe it contrasts too much and it tends to absorbe all the attention so that your dog has less. Also those orange sticks (are they legs from a chair?) have a too saturated colour and, if they could be helpful lines to drive the attention on your dog, they contrast too much and so the eye stops there.

    Ciao!

Erik! What a pleasant surprise to see you here again! Thanks for your comments and thanks also to all the other photographers. You've been all very nice.

Thanks Pierre. I should have waited for sunset light, but then the moon would have not been there! The moon is very very important in the composition of this image, but also in its meaning.

This photo has actually already been rated 3/3 by one and 4/4 by another... what to say... they are people in search for a light to illuminate their dark and cold lives. I won't give them mine, that's why I won't spend a word more about them.

Thanks once again for you comments.

Michael, I am young and I still have a lot to learn, but I'm so amazed that a good photographer like you really thinks this image is perfect. Thanks for your support, it was much appreciated.

Splendida! L'unica cosa che non mi convince e' il cielo: secondo me si scurisce troppo.... non si bilancia con cio' che sta sotto.

Vedo potenzialmente un grande scatto solo del ruscello.
