Bosque del Apache NWR in New Mexico at sunrise a few weeks ago. I think one of my
fingertips is still thawing out.

It is a beautiful scene. I love the detail of the green on the rocks. The red and blue in the foreground is fantastic. The only thing I find somewhat distracting is the bright white of the waterfall and the cloud on the left.

I wouldn't crop a thing. I think it is nice to see the bottom of the rocks as well. Beautiful sunset colors. I think Aguereberry Point is one of the best viewpoints, and least visited, in all of Death Valley.

Beautifully simple. Lovely colors.

I like it. I think the red works well. Even the "blood".

The reflection makes this great. I am torn about the brightness though. I realize how bright things are out there under a blue sky. Sometimes it is a struggle to decide how much to reproduce the intensity of the brightness. Lee Freidlander did a book on the SW with a bunch of overexposed BW photos to highlight that issue. It worked for him.

This is beautiful. Fantastic B+W image. Is it White Sands, NM?

This sure looks like the Wave. Beautiful colors. I like the way you framed the pattern.

Beautiful photo. I like the way you kept the top of the arch and also showed some sky above. Most Mesa Arch photos seem to frame the top of the photo with the midpoint of the arch itself. I think showing the whole thing makes that underglow even more spectacular. Each time I was there for sunrise, I was amazed at seeing some photographers almost come to blows about who was standing where and who got there first. It was nasty. A real contradiction to the incredible natural beauty of the scene.
Slab City. Mojave Oasis.

I wasn't sure which category to put this under. Sorry to all you landscape purists. This
is a rather unusual little compound on the east side of the Salton Sea called Slab City.
I think it is a bunch of squatters who pitched their trailers on concrete slabs left over
from some other previous use. One enterprising elderly gentleman has built a rather
large complex out of straw bales and plaster. He has covered them with colorful paint
and religious text. He offers free tours of his world.
