Nice catch!

This is a great capture Warren. BIF are not easy, well done! My only suggestion would be to spend 30 seconds or so in lightroom and remove those dust spots. I see 3 and a possible 4th. Thanks for the resent visit!
  2.
I should have looked here before calling my bank to see why my account was restricted!

  3.
Over the years I've posted some photos in the MIN forum from my "office". Last week the sun finally came out and the temp. rose to single digits and I took this photo about an hour after sunrise and included a portion of the office in it.

  4.
The Stuart mountains, shot from a ridge above my home at sunset last week.

  5.
Another one that likes Matt's definition, for all the reasons listed above...even the ones I didn't fully understand! :-)

  6.
Even though I do not have a macro lens, I enjoy viewing the work you guys post in the MIN thread and then do my best to take pleasing to "me" close up shots of flowers and such. Most of you are an inspiration to us mere mortals! :-) I think somebody should do it for this new forum.

    Sunset in october

    Wonderful sunset photo Sidsel!
  8. Another nice landscape Henri. I agree with the others about the over exposed sky. Very easy fix in lightroom!
  9. Very nice landscape Henri. Perfectly exposed in my opinion.
  10.
I have been doing what Lannie is doing for several years now. It use to be easier when the photonet/facebook app did it for me! My friends would all click the link, bringing them to PN to view the photo. None, zero, zip, nada, ever made a comment about the photo "on PN". They did however comment about it on FB.

but as I already mentioned, by clicking on the image on facebook, it opens large - so what's the incentive to click on another link to see it at the same size again?

Dieter, I'm confused by the above statement. No matter what size photo I upload to my Timeline on FB, clicking on it only yields a "slightly" larger view. It in no way compares to the "large view" on PN. Perhaps I'm not doing something correctly.

    Mt Rainer Sunset

I really like the different angle you've chosen for your photo of Mt. Rainier, still from Queen Anne Hill... I presume? When viewing the larger photo I do see 2 spots where you removed dust spots. Sometimes photoshop/lightroom does not select the "best" spot to grab it's replacement area from. If you don't already know, you can, manually move this area to a better spot, so it's not noticeable. There is also a dust spot, or maybe a small plane?... way west of the summit. Well done and thanks for sharing! Doug
  12.
Experimenting with the close up capabilities of a new lens on some wildflowers in our yard.

  13.
It's a tomato/burnt red on mine. Always has been, or at least as long as I can remember.

  14.
Baby Cedar Waxwing, that thought he was ready to fly, but wasn't.

  15.
I have noticed (sort of) the same thing, for maybe a year now. However, when it happens to me (and it's not every time I post a link) everybody else see's the thumbnail, I just see a link. Then after some period of time, it just magically appears. On a related subject: Photonet and Facebook use to have a handy app, that just automatically posted a thumbnail link on your timeline every time you uploaded a new photo to your photonet page. But it hasn't worked in a few years now. It was very easy to turn off if you didn't want it to post on facebook and then turn it back on again.

  16.
26 inches in 24 hours is a good snowfall. News worthy? Only if it's in a major city with millions of people. Bet you never even heard about the 208 inches of snow that fell on our town last month, 127 inches of it falling in one week.

  17.
I'm sorry you folks back east are not enjoying the snow we sent you, we have extra in the PNW this year! ;-) The turkeys have discovered our bird feeders and are enjoying the scraps left over on the ground.

  18.
Adam, go to the photo you want to add tags to (you must be logged in) and click the "details" tab. You will see "Tags" listed there. I know of no other way to do this other than one photo at a time.

  19.
In the great Pacific NW we're making up for last years pathetic snow fall with all time records. 208 inches for the month of December, with 117 inches of that falling in just 7 days. It finally cleared on the 30th when I took these photos.

  20.
Sorry, I failed to address the questions in your second paragraph. "Rights" are a negotiated deal between you and them. The more rights you give, the higher the price goes. Exclusive, is very pricey and few need, or are willing to pay that price. Credit, usually goes along with the deal, but I'm not sure where/how that could be done "on a stamp", or who could read it if it was? There are websites that list standard pricing for most types of rights based on a number of factors.

  21.
The CEO Carter Roberts of World Wildlife Fund makes in excess of 1/2 million dollars a year in salary. Their staff makes VERY good money also. The rest of the money they raise every year, which is a LOT, goes to lawyers and fund raising. VERY little (some years NOTHING) goes to "wildlife". They "have" the money to pay you what it's worth. They are just cheap and sleazy IMHO. I do not have the figure you're looking for, but I would guess it's a "good" figure. Personally, I'd tell them to go fly a kite...but that's me!
