  1. If there's a way, I've been unable to find it! I've been busy deleting old photos that were in previously private folders for only family to view. It's pretty obvious to me, that the software chosen to run this site is maybe really good for forums and such...but for managing and viewing collections of "photos" it just plain SUCKS!

  6. I was watching this topic in the hope that there was some way to organize my photos once again. Thanks for the reply WJT, I do appreciate the effort! But sadly, as you suspected the solution(s) you outlined "must" be moderator permissions only. In the first toolbox outlined above, my only options are, Set as my profile photo, or, Download. In the second, it's Report Image, or Delete. At least, I can now delete photos that "I" had deleted years ago, or were in "private" folders that only I could view, or the more common way I used that old feature was a link I gave others. This has gone on long enough IMO and with no organization in sight the only thing I can do is delete most of my photos. A LONG list of photos isn't fun for anybody to try and navigate, when you only want to view a members, say, wildlife photos. Thanks again for trying!
  7. I took a quick look around your many photos and saw lots of them that are older than 2016...some from the 80's and 90's "IF" the dates listed are correct?
  8. It appears to me that every photo I uploaded to my portfolio/now gallery, over the many years here made the transfer to this new PN... including some that I had deleted from my portfolio YEARS ago! Also, many that were in private folders within my portfolio. As it sits right now, I can't figure out how to manage any of my photos. I can, and have added a couple new ones, but they just go into the existing chronological order, that RWS alluded to above. Yes, it's a mess right now, maybe it'll all get sorted out? "We" don't know, we can only guess and wonder what's going on...
  9. Ricochetrider can certainly explain that situation, but it "sounds" just like what we have here, minus a couple extra neighbors. Once you leave the "road" to drive to our house, or our neighbors, you're on private property and have been for a few hundred yards. Nothing public about it and it goes nowhere that is either. I think I'd be suspicious of somebody wanting to photograph my place, or something from my place...I've already done that! I'd listen to their spiel however.
  10. WJT Thanks for the info! A week for the servers?? Sounds more like "someone" is manually doing it on a weekly basis to me, but I'll take that over the alternative I was doing! Looks like some of the E mail issues are being addressed as well, I got notice of your reply. This is all great news to me, somebody is moving us towards that far light... Thank You!
  11. Along about the time that everybody was having issues with being charged for renewed membership and NO way to contact anybody about it, my card expired shortly before my renewal date. No way was I going to give PN that new number under those circumstances. I waited and waited for things to get fixed. I really hope that there is a light at the end of this tunnel. Besides the E Mail issue, the only other feature I'd like to see fixed is the "update photo". Never has worked for me. I look forward to a new and better working PN!
  12. Interesting thread, I've enjoyed reading all of the opinions! But, Arthur, I've got to ask. How much better did that print look in 1856? I have some 40 year old printed photographs of mine hanging on the walls here that I can see time has degraded them some and they've never been exposed to direct sunlight. I still have the slides stored safely, so I'm not too concerned. However, I'm more comfortable with the safe storage of my digital files over the last 15 years.
