I like it. Nice and sharp and good, clean background. I like the way the guard rail color nearly matches the car's.

I know I wouldn't give my business to an establishment that doesn't permit nude wandering.
-
I like it, too. Particularly nice with the second car in the background. I'd love to shoot Goodwood. Looks like great fun with all sorts of wonderful cars and people.
-
I agree about the film (Provia is great stuff for this), but really very nice work!
-
I think the background works fine.

Really nice! It certainly gives a good idea of how bad the conditions were. And Bruno's creative interpretation of "single-file". I like it.

I don't quite get the idea behind VR lenses. Why not just use a faster lens to begin with? Is a VR lens substantially lighter or less expensive than a faster lens?
A VR (or IS) lens allows you to hand-hold at a slower shutter speed than you'd otherwise be able without unacceptable camera-shake.It's true that a faster lens would let you shoot a a higher shutter speed, but sooner or later you'll still reach a point where the lens is wide-open and then you need to shoot at a lower speed. Also, running around with an 80-400 f/2-f/2.8 would not be something I'd like to attempt. And, sometimes, as in this very POW-worthy example, you want to shoot at a low enough speed to get some motion blur but hand-holding at that speed would be difficult. You also might not want the shallower DOF that a wider aperture would cause.

Very imaginative. I don't think I've ever seen that perspective, either. In Bill Bryson's book In a Sunburned Country he describes how massive the bridge looks, and you've captured that very well.
-
A great job of capturing the activities of the crew. I like the light. The Bentley is such a beautiful car. Too bad that white thing is in the lower right corner, but other than that it's a very good shot.
-
I think I'd prefer it with a bit less sky, too, but it's a beautiful image.

Strikes me as a rather ordinary snapshot. I don't get it. What's that thing he's holding?
-
Good pan shot. I like the composition, with the specatators at the top and some room in front of the Ferrari.
-
Very nice! You captured the moment. Gotta love the Corkscrew! :)
-
That is very nice. I like the visibility of Gronholm's face and the very clean (well, if dirt can be clean...) background. I wish there was some detail in the left side of the car rather than dead black, but otherwise a fine shot.
-
Very nice work, especially considering the difficult color (black). A more interesting sky would have helped (and I'm wondering about that dark spot in the upper left-hand corner), but I like it very much.

It's Ralf! The trick is to pre-focus on the spot where you know the car's going to be, pan with the car, smoothly squeeze off the shot at the proper moment, and follow-through. And it takes lots of practice. Nicely composed except for the background (the Orange ads are rather distracting), and more background blur (by using a slower shutter speed) would be nice, as would more sharpness. But a decent effort. Journalistic and artistic aren't mutually-exclusive. See Darren Heath's work, for example.

Really nice. I like the framing at the top, from the Shell ad on the grass, the clean background, and the wheel and background blur. Ideally, maybe a bit more to the right would be nice (for less space behind the car and more in front), but nice work. (I do wish I could see it in a size somewhere between "small" and "medium", though)
-
Pushing him back in and getting ready for him to crash another one! :) I like it. A bit slower shutter speed for more blur would have been nice and, since the nose is chopped off anyway, maybe cropped a bit farther back on the right, but it's a very nice shot.
-
Excellent catch of Tagliani. Ideally, I'd like to see a bit more to the right. I can't make up my mind whether I would like it aimed higher, too--I think I like it as-is, with the roadway curving underneath. Looks like you really nailed the focus. Great shot!
-
Wonderful! I love the (cat-assisted) composition and the lighting.
-
Nah, if you could read the tires, it would look like the car's parked there. (And they say "Firestone", btw.) Very nice shot. Pan shots are tricky and I think you pretty much nailed this one. The other car in the background adds a lot, too, and it's nicely positioned relative to Adrian's car.
Did you shoot this in 2000? That looks like Jimmy Vasser in the Ganassi car in the back.
-
A polarizer would have probably helped with glare. Panning a 400 at slower shutter speeds is tricky, but a monopod would help. As for faking a slower shutter speed shot with Photoshop background blur, personally, I dislike that sort of fakery. But, if you tried it, you'd also have to somehow give the wheels more rotational blur.
-
Not bad. You've got some motion blur and the Lotus is sharp. I think I'd prefer it with the tires at the bottom cropped out, and maybe a bit less space behind the car and a bit more in front.
