I took this at the Formula 1 Grand Prix at Silverstone on July 7th

2002. I used an EF 70-200 f4L lens with a Canon 2x extender on my new

EOS 1D (bought in Japan at an great price.) The shot was taken at

1/200 sec at full aperture (f8 effective) The ISO setting was 400. I

was about 150 yards away and the car was doing about 110 mph. I

followed the car, hence a bit of background blur.

Really nice. I like the framing at the top, from the Shell ad on the grass, the clean background, and the wheel and background blur. Ideally, maybe a bit more to the right would be nice (for less space behind the car and more in front), but nice work. (I do wish I could see it in a size somewhere between "small" and "medium", though)

really really nice. Colors are marvelous, the car is perfectlly sharp. I thought pwouah! a F1 picture. But looking at your picture in small format is a pleasure for the eyes. thanks for sharing. + I love the details on his casque

This is a very nice shot of Irvine's car. The color is great, though you could probably bump up the brightness a little in photoshop, just to make it pop a little more, but other than that, great capture of the detail in the car and the speed of the car as well. Viva f1!

Nice shot! You have done the hard part, but a little more care in the cropping can improve on the image you have captured here

Loose. Also, he driving away from the camera and onto the edge of the image. This image is huge. I'm on a 21" monitor and have a large resolution.

Good panning technique though.

You might think about uploading a smaller size picture. The one here is far too large to view on a 15" monitor, even at higher resolutions. As far as the picture, its nice, but duplicates much of the stock racing photography.
