  1. I've bought a parts Jupiter-12 and a vintage USSR 35mm developing tank from a Kiev-based seller last year. Shipping took a bit longer, like David mentions, but no complaints or problems.
  2. Feeding a roll through the Stereo Realist. Let's see if this stereo photography thing is as cool as the cool kids say.
  3. ' Testing the Leica IIIg and Summicron. Still feeding it expired Agfa Film
  4. Loaded with another roll of expired agfa film, hopefully some fun stuff to photograph on King's Day. Corfield Periflex (v.4) and Lumar-X 50mm f/3.5 lens....now with the film pressure plate in the correct position
  5. A friend keeps saying I should run a regular 135/36 roll through it at the slowest FPS. Supposedly you can still make decent 5x7" prints from the negatives.
  6. Procession of the Giants in Mons last March. Contax II with expired Agfa film and Contax D with expired Macophot PO-100 clear
  7. Only halfway to the weekend. Still have half a roll in the Leica IIIg, and no plans.
  8. At 16fps you burn through 30m worth of film in 90 seconds. 2 full winds of the spring motor, plus a bit. I have one large capacity magazine and electric motor drive for them.
  9. They're Bell & Howell 35mm model 71 Eyemo cameras, One on the left is a US Army Signal Corps "PH-330-G" camera with Spyder Turret One on the right is a US Army Air Force "A-4 Bombspotting" camera. I've got a Vietnam era one and another one with a compact turret. And I would never be able to financially recover from shooting film through any of these 😁
  10. I've not even started properly cataloguing my collection yet.... 😉
  11. Some test shots from the A&K AkArelle with 5cm f/3.5 Radionar and expired Agfa film. Film transport was a little iffy, causing some overlap the negatives, but overall the operation of the camera feels very smooth.
  12. One of the rarer doorstops...euh.. cameras in my collection Simmon Brothers' Combat Camera. Only some 250 units made. Used in limited numbers by US military photographers during World War 2 From what I've read only one was issued for field testing per Signal Photographic Company. Cast shell from Magnesium, with a speed graphic-like focal plane shutter, capped by an internal lens cover linked to the shutter release. The verdict; it was generally considered to be too big and heavy for the 6x9cm images it produced (on film packs)
  13. Finished the roll in the Akarelle over Easter holiday. Had a few film transport hiccups, but the exposures are good. Loaded up my Leica IIIg with more expired Agfa film and mounted the Summicron on it. Let's see what developes 😉 This camera was suffering from a little curtain drag before, I've tweaked the shutter a little, but I've not retested it yet.
  14. For various definitions of 'fun' 😉 Rear right had one stuck brake shoe. and the rear left brake cylinder was leaking. So I'm having to get some new parts soon.
  15. A couple of snaps from last (rainy) weekend at the Dutch Army Engineers Museum Kodak Suprema, 8cm f/3.5 Xenar, Fomapan 100 Leica IIIc, 35mm f/3.5 Elmar, Expired Agfa Film I've dubbed this last one: "The Dirty Joke"
  16. I want to test my recently acquired Summicron, either on my Leica M-E or on a IIIg. Today I have a roll of film in the Akarelle I picked up last month. Probably won't get to shoot a lot until the weekend. At least my agenda is empty for the first time in 6 weeks. As long as I can shake off this sore throat before then.
  17. Another grouping of cameras from the collection. Not current as I own a couple more Contax II, IIa and III cameras now.
  18. Yeah, the later versions of this camera do have the automatic stop down feature. The Tessar on this Contax D does have the aperture pre-set ring to speed things up a little bit. In the end the expired Macophot film in the Contax misbehaved and I only got about half a roll worth of images out of it. The frame counter on the Suprema wasn't engaging properly so I had to use the red window and got 8 shots out of the respooled roll of Fomapan 100 instead of 12. The Leica IIIc, with 35mm f/3.5 Elmar performed perfectly. It is my beloved go-to camera after all. 😉 I did not shoot any film with the Speed Graphic, though I was interviewed by a lady whose grandfather served with a US Army Service Company on Iwo Jima, post-war Japan and Honolulu. She is working on a project to reshoot some photos her grandfather took.
  19. Welcome back. Glad to hear you're doing better. We've missed your photos and comments. 🙂
  20. Concerning US military cameras, particularly around World War 2, there is a difference between military photographers and accredited civilian war correspondents. The men of the Army Pictorial Service, Yank, Stars&Stripes, Signal Photography Companies were issued their main camera equipment straight from Uncle Sam, with the Graflex Anniversary Model Speed Graphic being the workhorse. Officers in the SPCs were to be issued a Leica IIIa. Though these were not officially accepted cameras, they are part of the Table of Organisation and Equipment from 1944. The Kodak 35 was part of the Photographic Set for reproduction work, but also appears in the hands of identification units in the field, and with men out on leave. Of course they also carried personal (non-military) cameras for less official work. Like Mac Flemming who shot with a Kodak Vollenda in Germany in 1945. Vaccaro with his Argus C-3 ended up as a regimental photographer, but officially it was not part of his job/MOS. Accredited Correspondents, like Miller and Capa, while wearing military uniforms, were still civilians and had to supply their own cameras.
  21. A random saturday in Mons with a fellow shutterbug, Contax II, CZJ 50mm f/2 Sonnar, expired Agfa film
  22. Just added this US Army Signal Corps version of the Bolsey B2 to my collection. Designated the "PH-324A", the follow-up camera to the Kodak 35 "PH-324". I recall it was used in the post-war version of PH-261 "Darkroom in a box", until it was replaced in 1954 by the ES-12(1) Photographic Set, that came with a Kodak Signet 35.
  23. 6 film holders loaded with expired Fomapan 200 and Ilford HP5+ for the weekend. Got a roll of respooled Fomapan 100 in the Kodak Suprema Got a couple of rolls of expired Agfa film ready to be fed through this wartime Leica IIIc for the weekend And finally There's another roll of expired Agfa in this Contax D that I picked up earlier in March, that I'm debating to bring along this weekend. If there's still room in baggage.
  24. Some shots from a misbehaving Ihagee EXA IIb, with 5cm f/2.8 Domiplan and expired Agfa Film. Shutter sometimes trips before the mirror isn't fully up yet, particularly on higher speeds and if I crank the film advance too fast.
