  1. All made in Italy film is Ferrenia film. I have a crap load of the Clark Color lab version, and I used it to just use it. But for pictures I know I want quality, but the Pro films like Kodak Portra or Fuji's version.

All though I used alot of the Clark color stuff this summer for flower Macros, the contrast and punchy colors of the Ferrenia film worked well. Also try to shoot the stuff at 1/3 stop over exposed. I found that helps alot.

  2. Like the rest of you, trying to find an eyecup for our T-90's is like finding

the holy grail. Today I went to my local pro store that has been selling Canon

for decades hoping they would have some NOS. I told the owner that I had heard

the eyecup from the EOS-1 might fit. But I don't think he had those either. So

he just started grabbing Canon eyecups and we found the EF eyecup fits

perfectly, even clears the lever near the eyepiece. Also it 'clicks' and locks

over the mount. Cost is roughly 12 bucks. The EF eyepiece fits the Rebel

    T1/T2.

  3. Remember the f/16 rule is a good starting point. Taking photos on the beach with bright sun will fool your meter and your camera will underexpose. What I have done is use a circular polarizer, and meter in the shade/shadows. Get the reading and then set your camera for that. then you don't have to worry about exposure much. Have fun, and post your results!
  4. Sams Club does mine, only 20 cents to develop and print 35mm on 4X6 color prints. They also told me I can bring my negatives from any process (B/W) and they can print from them. I use a local for my TRI-X, and he charges 11 bucks for 24 exposures with prints. But he prints with Nikon lenses on photo paper the way it used to be done.

I will have to try that Target business though, do you have them leave the negatives uncut?

  5. Send it to www.garryscamera.com and he will do a great job for around 50 bucks. So then you will just have 60 invested. If it is not fixable, he will tell you so. He has done a AE-1p and A-1 for me, and no complaints.
  6. I shot my daughters graduation with a FD 70-210mm outdoors with Kodak portra 160. It was a mistake, I had brought 400 along, but loaded the 160 first thinking I would do before ceremony shots(ran out of time). So I shot 250 @ I believe f/5.6-f/8 at full zoom (what the meter was giving me off the greyish running track). I was thinking I was wasting my time, as I was sure all the shots would be underexposed. NOT! all were beautifully exposed! I know that film has great latitude, but my results are just a testament to how great the Canon lenses are.

So getting back to your experience and tieing this all in, I am sure your pics will look great!

Do you have a MA winder for it? Get one if you don't.

  7. I have acquired a bunch of Ferrania film in 100,200, and 400 speeds. My stuff was originally from Clark Color Lab, which is a mail-in developing service. Anyway, I notice the same contrast as you. I sometimes overexpose it by a 1/3, and it helps a little. So I save it for the kids 35mm cameras and for family events or general photography. I got the stuff at a surplus store, for under 50 cents a roll. It was originally sold for around 5+ dollars with developing through Clark for a dollar extra. So as you probally guessed it, I still get developing for $1 :)
  8. Thanks Mark, I was thinking about using Sturgeon Bay as home base. Door County sites are not that far up the coast by map anyways. I am all familiar with sea gulls, I grew up in SW Michigan, and they were always bad, feed one, and you have to feed a thousand.

Will I need a lens any longer than 210mm? I shoot film, so 210 is my limit.

  9. I will be visiting Door County, WI. the end of July. I will be with my wife

and 3 younger children. Any advice where to stay? I know the place is

covered with light houses, but any other photo worthy area's?

  10. I was there the same time of year about ~ 2 years ago. Very hot, and humid. I used a Canon AE-1p with a 28-200mm lens and a 50mm f 1.8. Look at my profile pics, I used Kodak BW400 CN for the interior shots of the Art Institute and also the outside shots along Michigan AVE. There is almost too much to shoot, so yes, double your film hourde, film along Michigan Ave is about 6 bucks a roll for fuji 400 24/exp. and that is all you will find.
  11. I tried searching in the archives for an answer, but did not find one. I have

some Kodak Portra NC/VC in both 160 and 400 speeds. I will be using my Canon

A-1 with a FD 70-200mm f/4 for the during ceremony shots, and then a prime

(50mm) for afterwards. The weather should be sunny and around 75. What do you

all suggest? I also have some Kodak 400UC. I think the gowns will be black, and

my daughter is a light complected caucasin. Thanks in advance.
