  1. Here are some pics I took this last weekend with my A1 and 35-105mm FD lens. I

used Fuji Superia 400, and re-branded Konica 200. I scanned the negatives on my

Epson RX620, so forgive me there.<div>00I7am-32492784.thumb.jpg.c0d48ad1d1457778585c2256904a0c35.jpg</div>

  2. I have had two Canon A-bodies(A-1 & AE-1P) done at Garry's camera repair. His site is www.garryscamera.com. Also, www.unitedcamerarepair.com, they are in the +100 range, but they have been in business for a very long time and service alot of camera's for other businesses. Good luck!
  3. Ron,

Sorry for the delay in replying. I am new to this, so I knew that in the low light conditions, I should use Aperture priorty, so I set the 50mm lens to f/1.4, and I was shooting handheld as well. I just remember seeing the meter giving me readings in the 1/20, 1/30, 1/40 ranges depending on light available. But as far as the TMC, I have never heard that before, but again, I am a newbie. Thanks for the input though.

  4. Thanks for all the comments guys. My dad said he was looking for a better camera, so a guy told him about the PX in Seoul. When he went to buy it, the guy there told him he wasn't supposed to sell the camera to him since his base was out of the sales area. The leather case came with the camera for that price as well. As far as the meter, always worked. The funny thing is that my dad shot rolls of color slide through the camera since it was cheaper for him to do that, something about mailing it out of Korea was faster and cheaper then developing film there. So of course he has some gorgeous slide pictures.

As far as the film, Kodak BW400 C-41 process, any other suggestions?? I also have a couple of Canon A-series cameras that I shoot it through, and not terriblely impressed with it in either camera.

    Thanks again.

  5. My dad just gave me this camera that he originally bought in Seoul, S. Korea in

1953. He got it at a Army PX, and it cost him $83.00!!! Everything still

works, even the meter. This picture of my dad and my two daughters was taken a

couple of days ago using Kodak BW400CN (C-41 process). It was taken in the

    shade mid-day.<div>00Hvk8-32172284.thumb.jpg.caed129f0124e58665b4a4289d15652e.jpg</div>

  6. I have a Canon A-1, using a 50mm 1.4. I had visited The Field Museum in Chicago this summer, and used Fuji Superia 1600, and was really amazed on how low of light I was able to take a picture. I mean 1/20-1/30 at f/1.4 and got amazing shots! And I did not see any grain. I also had some Fuji Superia 400 in the camera when I first walked in the museum, and was able to get some low light shots due to the wide latitude of this film. Have fun!
  7. I agree with Mark. They are very accurate. Did you not have some pics turn out? I recently went to my local library and checked out every book they had on photography. I advise you to do that. You will be suprised on what the main theme is. I have 4 Canon A series, the first one I owned was a AE-1P, given to me as a graduation present, anyway, decided to get back into it, and now bought 3 more:). Enjoy, read, experiment, and remember "Film is cheap".
  8. Just went to a Osco drug and bought some near expired film, 4 roll pack of 200

speed film. Says made in Japan. Any ideas who made it? I bought it for $3.20 a

4 pack(96 exp). I have not shot it yet, so not sure what the negs will have on

them. Also picked up a roll of just expired Kodak gold 100 24 exp for 50 cent.

    Thanks in advance.

  9. As I write this, I am still looking for a hood also. I guess the greatest concern of a aftermarket hood is that it will encroach on the image at 35mm. Other than that, I did a google search, and I saw ones for a 72mm threaded metal hood that looked alot like the original. Another thought is a "Tulip" type, which Nikon pioneered. Good luck!
