I would never buy a warranty for $590. Check out the following sites.

You can check with your credit card company and home owners insurance policy to see how they treat products.

Please post examples.

2.8 for landscapes is near useless.

I use my 10-22 near exclusively at 7.1

-

I would have shot with a faster shutter speed, at least 1/200th if not 1/500th.

Anyway, this seems to be an article on point.

Having two "recent" bodies seems to be a good requirement.

How many amatures have two bodies and would take the time to register / pay money? Very few.

I have the same lens, a collar is not necessary and would never spend money to add the feature to my lens.

I believe that if the collar necessary or even recomended Canon supplies it with the lens.

While not always true, the more expensive the camera the more skilled the operator is likely to be.

Nothing is stopping a person with only a point and shoot from making a majical picture, its just that the majic probably won't happen near as often.

I am quite happy with my g9 and 50d combo.

You should get good results with ISO3200 on either the 50d or 5d.

ISO6400 on the 50d is usuable if you have too. From a powder puff law school game. I needed 6400 because I had a f4 lens and because of the relatively poor lighting.

How do you know it has under a 1000 clicks?

I've had my 50d for less than a month and I have over 1400. I'm not a pro nor do I get paid to do anything. I am a full time grad student in a field as far removed from photography as can be.

I ordered the picture at 24x36, I had a 28mb file. I did method suggested above, I printed a section of the full size image and stuck it on my wall.

I order my pictures from whcc.com; they do a pretty good professional job.

This shot was also with a tripod and a 2 sec / timed shutter.
ISO 100, f7.1, 11mm

Well I'm wondering just how large I can print a landscape image and it still look good from a normal viewing distance.

Currently, I am leaning towards ordering a print at 24x36. When I have it on my screen at the exact same size it would be printed it looks good still from my 1-2ft viewing distance. Viewing it at print size on my monitor is exactly 33.333 percent of the size that the image would have to be at 300dpi printed. Do prints work this way?
What is the biggest that you have printed?

this is the pic

If you are doing this for fun the 55-250 would be ok.

If you are getting paid you really need to have much better lenses.

nope.

You may have to right click view"view image" to see the images not re-sized for the forum.

I use the 10-22 for my walk around lens. I use the 50 1.8 for portraits (very small and very light). I use the 70-200f4l for special occassions that require it.

-

I use a tripod for landscapes that I will probably print, group shots that include me, night shots, etc. If I ever bought a heavier lens for birding I would use it then too.

If you have a light tripod it also doubles at a walking stick when you are hiking.

http://claytontullos.com/images/slide.tif for anyone who is interested. I would right click and save as.

I shoot digital purely for the convience and do not use my slide scanner anymore.

Fuji Sensia 100.

Do you have to pay to rent the 50 1.8? If so, just buy it.

-

I hate to rain on your parade but your scanner is only capable of 30mp and that is if you scan it at 5400x5400 which is unlikely. But your point still remains that your scanner is better than most pro slr's today.

My scanner can do 7200 x7200 '(51mp), but only has digital ice and slides are only able to look good at that resolution.

Here is a 41mp image done with my scanner, yes the tiff is quite large hence the conversion to jpg.

2 seems the best to me along with the 10-22.

looking for lens for airshows
in Canon EOS Mount
Posted

I don't think 200mm is enough for an air show.

I'd shoot for the 100-400 or better.
