The Canon Pro1.

 

It uses an L lens.

Well for my trip to the Grand Canyon I will probably bring that much film with me, but for right now photography is just a hobby and days to weeks can go by between a single photograph. Ofcourse as soon as I get the camera I will probably blow through both rolls of film just testing out the various different features. Then until I go to the grand canyon I will probably just purchase inexpensive drugstore film, however for the Grand Canyon I will probably get slide film.

Another vote for the underwater housing (SD500).

I just ordered everything from B&H.. spent a little more than I wanted too but I believe it will do me better in the long run. I did order the battery grip.

 

I will wait till late the middle of November, when I am taking my trip to the Grand Canyon, to purchase the cable release.

 

Hopefully, I will be recieving my items by the middle of next week.

Well I believe I have made up my mind. I will purchase a new Elan 7N, 50mm f/1.8 II, 2 rolls of Fugi Superia 400, and a Tiffen cicular polarizing glass filter.

I really dont know about getting the battery grip, on one hand its $70 but I have over 50 AA's sitting in a drawer... the onther is that I could just buy a few cv2 batteries and be done with it.

I am wary of buying a used camera.

I am looking to purchase a camera for myself and am looking to

purchase one quite soon. I will be purchasing along with the camera

the 50mm 1.8 M2 lens.

 

I am a beginner as far as SLR's are concerned and I honestly don't

understand the various benefits of the Elan over the Rebel. Money is

an issue and currently the Elan is at the top end of my budget.

 

Suggestions would be welcomed and appreciated.

I want to be able to have explict control of an image and currently Manual focus gives me what I want.

Thats not quite what I meant, for instance in this photograph my camera focused on the cactus and not on the lizard. This sort of thing happens to me all the time.<div></div>

In all honesty 5mp is not enough for me, the only time I am able to leave the photo in its original size is when the camera is in macro mode (see the picture of a sunflower in my profile)... otherwise the image just is not at the quality that I want in my photographs 8x11 or larger.

 

I do want to test the waters with a film slr simply because film is not getting any better I can spend months to years in it improving my photographic ability... mabye by that time quality digital slr's (12mp+) will be cheap enough for me to afford.

 

If I go with a film SLR once/if I make the move to digital my hope is that I will be able to take whatever lenses I have with me into the digital realm.

I am considering purchasing a Canon T2 for an upcomming trip to the

Gand Canyon, and various other uses as well.

 

In all honesty I know nothing about film cameras, I am fairly decent

with my digital point and shoot (see my gallery). But what I have come

to despise about it is my complete inability to control focus on what

I want to focus on; hence my want for an SLR.

 

Also I want to blow up images so that they will appear decently at

above 8x10 sizes.

 

What is a "date body"? How is it different from a standard one?

 

I will be using this camera as more of a stepping stone for a future

purchas of a digital slr.

 

I would appreciate any comments/suggestions.
