  1. On the comment about what it will look like in a few years. My shots on the original Velvia in 35,120, and 4x5, which are always lit on a window box, are still as beautiful and vivid as when first processed over 10 years ago. I like the shot. Nothing here says it is unique nor special. It is a nice shot of a small cascade of water. Being one of millions doesn't lessen the fact that it is a beautiful image. Nice shooting. And 8x10 no less. "Passion"

This image doesn't convey passion to me at all. The color and contrast is wrong. The pose is wrong. Her watch is a distraction. I like her headlights though. This just isn't appealing. Look at Helmut Newton and then try again. James

I agree with Christopher here. I like the solitude but the passerby ruins it. The sky could have been darkened a little, at least edge burned, and the snow isn't quite white enough. James

Nice idea Jeff. Lots of detail and contrast. Look at Ray McSaveny's Bodie images. He brings out detail in the interior walls that is very bright but still has all the detail that's there. Is this at the northern end of The Sea? I have a shot similar to this. James

I like it better with the house on the left cropped out. It makes the RR sign much more prominent which to me is the center of attention here. You already have a house on the right hand side. The left hand house competes too much and is redundant. I like the effect of the color too. Very nice image. James
  2. I think the idea here is great. But the composition just doesn't stir me much. The sun rays are very striking but this grouping of trees leave me wanting something else. The printing could be a lot better too. James
  3. I hope you got more than this when you were there. This just isn't representative of the fantastic images that this place is known for. Too cluttered. Color is washed out. Just not it. Sorry. I know you have more than this. Let's see them. James
  4. Again, I love a pretty model. This is a nice sensual pose. Very soft. Just not a good scan or something. Color to grayscale doesn't do it here. Would have been much more effective on black and white film in the first place. And sharp. Soft is one thing but here, sharp with a soft outer surround would have been great. Again it could just be the scan. Is the print sharp? There just isn't the right halation around the contrasting areas that I feel are vital to a great sensual image like this. Love the model. And the pose. Much more could be done here. James
  5. You'cve certainly got a winner here. Beautiful moment. And I disagree with Tony. A beautiful scene is always worthy. You can never have too many beautiful landscape images. Nor nudes nor flowers nor people images. It's all new and exciting each time as long as some thought was put into each creation. There are a couple of good ways to print this but this is great. I like the fence where it is. Not being intrusive upon the incredible subject itself. I hope there was a color image of this too. James
