Oh LOL Sandy - I've been there too many times. Two year old boys are by far the most challenging let alone twins. I have not the honor to shoot two year old twins yet so you are one up on me:) I have a hard time shooting groups of children or families with young children. It is so hard to get one that I am happy with. Tonight I am shooting a group of cheerleaders so I hope they turn out good.
Thanks for sharing -

I missed this one. Very good capture of a real life moment. It reminds me of a 1950's portrait for some reason. I really do like it!

The exposure is perfect on this and the pose is very natural and relaxed. Great capture Sandy!

Thanks for all the comments. I bought this at Walmart for $17.00. It is a larger planter found in the gardening section. It is hard to contain children from the time they crawl until about 4 years old. I have tons of baskets, boxes, tins etc. For the older children, I will sometimes play catch with them as long as they sit still. I just snap the photos when they do not have the ball. Many of the time, the parents also bribe their children with treats after the session...:) I go with whatever works.

I got this idea from another website I belong too. It was too cute to
pass up. Thought I'd share my version.

Comments are appreciated - this is from one of my first maternity
shoots.

Thanks Will & Bridgette - My thoughts exactly on the timeless portrait, Will. That is style that I really am liking these days. He is just a darling kid so most of his photographs turn out really well. As far as the conversion...I know I desaturated it, played with color balance, adjusted brightness/contrast and did so burning & dodging. I just play around until I find something I am happy with. I also added a little canvas texture just so it wasn't so smooth. Thanks for commenting - I always get excited when I open my workspace and see that someone has commented:)

Thanks Will, Eyad & Teresa - His smile definitely makes the portrait. My backdrop is an inexpensive muslin that I got off of ebay a while ago. It is only 6x9 so I don't use it that often but I thought it looked great with his outfit. His mom did love the photo! I wish I could get a shot this good of my own son:)

Beautiful portrait Ger! I like the softness and the composition. The DOF is also very nice. Great job - you should be very proud of this one!
