  1. The bold colors of nature from the violet distant horizon, blue sky, green fields, yellow earth and red toned foreground pebbles light my screen with a beautiful rainbow! The rhythm of the cloud formations to the distant trees and the foreground puddles carries a nice synchronicity throughout the composition. This is a star photo! Thank you for posting!

This image presents both simple and complex; and, for me, that usually indicates a sense of timelessness. The textures, minimal color, and light treatment are unusual and stunning. Excellent!

The natural abstract of the cats dissolving into the grass is soothing. Nice shot. My monitor shows an emphasis on green hue treatment; and, I like it!
  2. The flattening affect of the camera causes your cropping (is it a tad tight? -- who cares!)and the placement of the subject allude, for me, to my interpretations, of techniques used by top Japanese wood block artists of the 1700-1800's. Also, I'm a softie for well done feathers of flight.

The realness here is so much more refeshing than overpolished professional studio efforts . . . I feel welcomed and able to access positive feelings from the models. Supurb!

The sky, of course, is magical in this image; however, what allows it to really work for me are the warmer tones of the sweeping foreground and the emerald hues in the water that add depth to the misty far forrested hills . . . excellent!

I love that you categorized this in fashion and not something like street. Also, the bland simplicity of the image, even down to the washed middle greys is terrific handling.

The grittiness of the image with the surreal texture of the water works well for me in this image. Also, I like the fishing pole that seems to be in harmony with the tall grasses. Nice image. Refreshing in BnW.

Unique and expert color treatment. So frequently I have seen this type of treatment on recent landscapes, stills or abstracts . . . how refreshing to see it again applied to a lovely model. Reminds me of retro 1960's images! What allows this to ultimately work, for me, is not necessarily the color tratment but the clarity of the image: the model is without ceremony, looking directly at the viewer and has a bemused smile not unlike those of great master's paintings. Bravo!

The beauty of this image is the timelessness of the captured elements. The strength of the image is in the simplicity of the elements as they are not cluttered or distracted with additional non-essential elements. Finally, the human experience in the stance and gaze of the model holds universal communication to what I find to be for several of several origins. Thank you for such a lovely image. Your kindred heartfelt awareness emanates with poise and grace.
  3. The light treatment in this is very good . . . the contrast between the soft sky lit homes against the statute, Nun and cypress. Also the rhythm of the church spires, illuminated cross, bridge street lamp and cypress, etc. are very nice and accentuated with the diminishing bridge walkway. Great composition! A really fine piece!

6/6 -- Sometimes the trees are missed for the woods and the cigar is little more than rolled tobacco! The impact of the image, for me, far out reaches the technical fretting and bantering. All that is good fun; however, here, an excellent image well captured! We've had Avedon redefine naturalistic close ups after decades of polished glamour, Witkin revive negative and social treatments and now here, someone who can authentically and frankly take a shot without compromise and simple elements in partialness. Excellent!
