Kim:
I'm glad you liked my cactus. I think the lighting came out well on the needles to show off their beauty and danger.

Zak Himmelman: Thank you for commenting on my rose shot. I agree that rose shots are overdone but when I look out the window and see the their beauty, I get the urge to grab my camera. Let's face it most subjects are overdone but it is in the process of capturing the moment that is still fresh. Regards: Jeri

The design is good. I like the repeated angles, circles, and patterns. It might be better if the top of the photo was much darker. The grayscale is a little flat.

Thanks Wesley. The desert is pleasant in the spring. Forget the summer. It is too hot for me.

This is much better. All you have to do is sharpen the flying heron.
Nice composition.

Thank you for the comment Gustavo. I took quite a few shots to get the dof on this one.

Yes, you need to explain how you took the photo and what equipment you used.
It is a pleasant shot. The road leading into the shot makes for a good composition, but it might be better if there was something of interest in the shot besides the beautiful trees. You can change the appearance with a photo editing program. Keep shooting and experimenting.

The sky is ok. This is a difficult shot. Perhaps if you had focused on fewer nests so you could get more detail. This is an amazing heron hotel here.

Nice composition and detail. The different textures make it interesting to explore.

Great shot. Very well presented. Excellent use of light.

John:
I believe you when you say that he is stepping into the shot after all you were there, but his body language is leaning back a little and the expression on his face looks like he is wary of flying hair. Anyway this is a great slice of life. It remimds me of the old Saturday Evening Post Magazine shots.

Yes there is one certain thing about the desert. It is it that you cannot predict what it will be like. You had snow and clouds. This was clear skies and warm temps. Thanks for stopping buy, Jeri.
