carpediebold 0 Posted April 10, 2006 All my pictures are turning out like this. The colors aren't very vibrant and the detail leaves a lot to be desired. any ideas on what i can do to improve? still a beginner, so your critiques will go a long way! thanks much Link to comment
garydad 0 Posted April 10, 2006 Pete, it would help if you listed what equipment you are using. What is your equipment, are you using editing software? Link to comment
jlt 0 Posted April 10, 2006 Yes, you need to explain how you took the photo and what equipment you used. It is a pleasant shot. The road leading into the shot makes for a good composition, but it might be better if there was something of interest in the shot besides the beautiful trees. You can change the appearance with a photo editing program. Keep shooting and experimenting. Link to comment
carpediebold 0 Posted April 11, 2006 I'm using a Nikon D100, with a Sigma 28-300mm f/3.5. This shot was taken at f/3.5 1/800 @28mm (I just noticed the f/3.5, no wonder it's not all in focus) I didn't edit this at all. I'd love to achieve the crisp look without editing, so I'm staying away from photoshop, etc. And thanks for your comments, they're really helpful :) Link to comment
maury_cohen 0 Posted April 11, 2006 A center of interest might add to the image. Right now it looks to me like a backdrop waiting for a subject. An animal, auto, bicycle, jogger, etc. in teh foreground would add interest, specially in a contrasting color (red or magenta range). You've got middle ground and background but no foreground.
