The flange-to-film distance is the standard 28.8mm. It is possible that a collapsible lens, when collapsed, will bump against the baffles: but it's easy to check this. Just keep the back open while slowly pushing in the lens barrel and you can see what happens.

Snapshot of visiting friends. Kuria and I were together at university starting in 1970. He was married in 1978. I photographed the wedding, then their first child, a girl, and, in time, her wedding also. She now has two kids but lives on another continent. Nikkor 50/1.4 on Sony A7 -
Lou, your photo and mine both show a problem common in flash work: reflection of the flash off the skin. I toned it down in the first photo but did nothing to the second.

This boy runs from the grocer's shop to customers' homes to deliver purchases ordered over the phone. He works from early morning until late at night and is not paid much: but he always has a smile on his face. Sony FE 28-70 on Sony A7 -
While many in north America seem to think that they should bare their teeth in a smile when being photographed, many in India believe that they should look stern and forbidding. This chap is quite friendly, the opposite of what his expression in the photo suggests. Sony FE 28-70 on Sony A7

A 28-70 zoom lens came with my Sony A7 camera in February 2015. I barely used the lens, as I soon got adapters to use my Leica mount lenses and then changed to manual focus Nikkors. For over three years the zoom sat unused. Last week I used it for a few photos. This pedestrian group shot is only to show that the lens performs fairly well. Sony FE 28-70 on Sony A7
