1.
Good timing in your photo, Alex.
The older ice cream sister.

 2.
My understanding is that when a TTL flash is used, the camera reads the light bouncing back from the subject and, when enough has come in, turns off the flash. The camera cannot control any manual flash-guns used and must assume that all the light on the subject comes from the TTL flash. Therefore I said, in an earlier post, "you will need to use your TTL flash also in manual mode." I say again that the simplest and least expensive solution is optically activated sensors on both manual flash-guns.

 3.
A spot meter has a narrow angle of view. Those who use such meters take several readings and combine them. You will probably be best off with an incident light meter.

 4.
"Off camera cord," I think it's called. Available for all major camera brands, not usually longer than a metre or so. As you will probably work in manual mode, a simple non-TTL lead should do.

 5.
To what I said I shall only add that in either situation, your TTL flash will trigger the other two.

 6.
A spot meter is likely to go above your budget, but there are plenty of reflected light and incident light meters available for less than $100. I agree with Tim about the Luna Pro.

 7.
The simplest course is to keep the auto flash on the camera (or connected with a lead which preserves TTL function) and use cheap optical triggers on the manual flashes. There should be no pre-flash, of course. I suspect that you will need to use your TTL flash also in manual mode.

 8.
The view-finder front window and the shutter release button say that it is a Leica. On the top plate the black paint seems to be be coming off around the white paint markings.

 9.
Asghar Ali Engineer, the man in the distressingly worked on photo on display, died a year ago. There was a lecture in his memory, delivered by the eminent historian Mushirul Hasan.

 10.
You want to reduce 3/8" to 1/4", and the small object is usually called a bushing.

 11.
A teacher in Delhi University was in effect abducted from his home by the police of Maharashtra state and taken out of the city. There have been meetings and press conferences and demonstrations in protest.
