you're not going to get any noticeable vignetting with a decent camera like that ricohflex! you're going to want to use a holga, or a diana if you're working in medium format. the diana will also give you focus errors and light leaks, which are also "wrong." there are a lot of toy/junk 35mm cameras that will produce consistent vignetting as well, you may want to do some research on flickr for that.

i used to regularly push it to 1600 using hc110 and i thought it looked great. neopan 1600 is more expensive and having the 400 gives you more flexibility.
-
the only reason i would predict its a close-out is because it says "last chance" and "close-out" on the tags. maybe they will change their minds!
-
not sure (of course) if this holds true for all longs drugs, but 2 of the 3
stores i've been to in the last week in the oakland/berkeley area are closing
out kodak 400uc and HD400 at 50% off (UC comes out to $7 for 3-36 exp rolls and
HD is $5 for 3-24 exp rolls.) the boxes i've bought so far were all dated
11/2008. they're also closing out all the APS film, fuji true definition 400,
and the one store i went to that had elite chrome was also 50% off. i don't
think you have to hurry other than if you're worried about stock depletion as
the tags have the end of sale date as sometime in august. after this i guess a
very poor selection of films will be had at these stores :/
*the longs on shattuck in downtown berkeley isnt running this sale

not inland empire but santa ana is closer than san francisco

i think most(?) copper toners will vary in tone depending on the length of time you tone for. much longer times will produce a chocolate effect...i'm a fan of that one.

HC110, best one shot dev. measure out individual does of the syrup with a syringe.

the link goes to a protected message board and i can't see what was posted. perhaps you could repost the link here?

ahh, and how can we get some stateside?
-
i would set it to the fastest shutter speed, smallest aperture, leave the lens cap on and put it in a changing bag or under a blanket and shoot+advance until the frame you left off on, then do one or two more for good measure.

wow rsx II is back. excellent for cross processing!
i wish they'd bring back ULTRA! hope for the future!

theres a brightlab jr, which i believe is about half the wattage of the jumbo and about half the price.
-
i see it pop up on the auction site every now and then. but it's 25 year old instant film so i doubt it works very well.
-
think they'll do 120? do they send their outlab stuff to fuji?
-
hang it vertical and weight the bottom so it hangs as flat/straight as possible.
as a previous poster said, put them in sleeves once they're dry and the curl will go away after time.

i've been trying in vain to obtain one of these cameras in working condition. i
thought i had one- but after using it for a few days the meter died(?) it was in
a bag that may have been set down hard a few times, but the camera seemed to be
pretty robust. and yes the battery is fresh. i've also had a few DOAs, all of
them seem to have non-functioning meters, which makes the entire camera useless.
would using a modern 625 cell kill the meter with an overvoltage?

i usually shoot neopan 400 on the street.
-
i've only seen it occasionally at camera stores. it's usually been fresh when i've found it, and ridiculously expensive. you can order it directly from polaroid. i've won a few auctions and the stuff i've received has been fine, but nothing was older than 1 year out of date.

dwayne's scanning is dirt cheap, but i don't know how respectable it is (never had it done myself.)
-
thank you everyone for your suggestions!
-
any recommendations?
i looked in the archive and couldn't find anything...
i've tried dwayne's. and they are very inexpensive and fast but i'm looking for
something of better quality. this would be for fresh color film. mail order
unless there's something here in the san francisco bay area i don't know about.
TIA

if everything else was equal, hc-110 comes in a very convenient liquid form. you can even dilute just enough for one reel using a syringe.
-
i would recommend neopan 1600, or neopan 400 pushed to 1600. i think the 1600 version is really just the 400 speed somehow calibrated to allow them to be developed at the same time (exact same dev. times.) maybe i'm wrong!
-
i'd like an answer to this too. i know you can also do it with HC-110, but i've never really seen the results discussed.
