1.
After reading for some time on the internet over the past nights i decded this morning to do the conversion myself.
I have done the conversion on the older but still brand new 85 PC version, not the PC-E.
The flex wires were each bundled with a tiny piece of sticky black tape. After having removed the tape very carefully by cutting the tape on the side of the flex wire, i turned the square assembly 90 degrees, and make sure that the locking knobs for tilt and shift come on the same side of the lens assembly. Carefull assemble the unit again, and before screwing it back together test if every thing moves easy and fluent.
Also test the button that closes the diafragm several times before screwing back the final assembly together.
If you make the rotation in the wrong direction, the flexcable will get stuck in mechanical parts. This is easy recognizeable when the locking knobs are on opposite sites of the lens after assembly.
Be sure to have absolutely the correct size of screw driver before you start.
It took me less than 15 minutes to complete the job ....
Only try this when you are an experienced person with affinity for small mechanics and be very very careful with the flex cables.
Last line : Do not do this at home, you could ruin a perfect and beautiful expensive lens.
I also do own the 85 PC-E wich will not be converted, but now can use either lens for the specific job.
In case of questions you can send me a personal message.

  2.
The quality of the first image was disapointing, probably because i had no tripod at hand, and needed a cable to keep the diafragm closed. I will do a new test next week during my holidays.
Will also try the 110 and 140 on the D800E .... just for fun

  3.
Today i have received my fotodiox adapter that enables me to mount a RZ67 lens on s Nikon DSLR.
Since i also have the FT1 adapter to mount nikon slr lenses on the Nikon V1, in theory i should be able to mount the RZ67 37mm fisheye on the V1.
I know this does not make sense, but it is a lot of fun to try.
Maybe i should add a picture in this entry of the 37mm mounted on the V1 tonight.
I was positively surprised by the build quality of the fotodiox adapter, it has a focussing mechanism, and was on sale at Amazon. The expected delivery date was August 20, but i received the package already today in my office.
Can not wait to play with it :-)
I am still looking for a method to be able to mount my Nikon DSLR in such a way that i can shift the medium format lenses to be able to use the complete angle of the lens by stiching images together ....
THere is an adapter for 4x5, but i did not find something for RZ or Hasselblad yet.
Would love to play with those combinations also.

  4.
Michael, sorry to disappoint you, but i am rather convincved this is a job for Nikon Service department ....
i would be surprised if you could find the correct display somewhere else ....
Good luck

  5. Rene, i own 1 F100 and 2x F5, the F5 can be obtained very cheap these days, but i do not invest money in analog

camera's anymore. The last one i have bought was a Mamiya RZ67. I fear that it will be to much hassle in future to get

film, get it developed and printed. On the other hand the value is so low these days that i will not sell my analog camera's

either. I was tempted to buy an F6 but my common sense did not approve ...

  6.
Maybe i am the only person, being on a different continent, that has seen the N from Nano coating in the picture. THis is something positive. First time i see this on a Nikon series 1 lens. Agree with the price remarks, for me to high.
Even since we pay the same price in Euro as USA based people pay in US dollars.
My price target would end at 599 us dollars for this lens.

But i am curious to play with it and test this lens a little :-)

  7.
On April 30st 2013 our Majesty Queen Beatrix stepped back and passed her position to King Willem Alexander.
Long Live the King and his wife Queen Maxima. :-)
This day was a national holiday in the Netherlands and a perfect occasion to bring my D7000 outside and take some pictures. I ended up in a small city with the name Zaltbommel. In this town is a real city castle, see the attached picture. Finally an opportunity to make a contribution to Nikon Wednesday . Picture has been made with a 10mm Sigma 2.8 fisheye.

00bboX-535289584.jpg.b960cbee84f745af566ba3d8621d4ca1.jpg

  8.
George,
when you use this lens on your D600, try to get something close in the foreground of your pictures, and use maximum DOF ..... i think you will be very enthousiastic. I own the AF-D 16mm over 12 years ...., i do not use it to often, but am never disappointed when using it.

  9.
I have checked the 128GB TRanscend in my D800 this morning, and that seems to work as it should.
Maybe Nikon will issue a firmware update for the D7000 in the coming months to solve this problem. Nikon, if you read this ..... please ???

  10.
In a special offer i purchased 2 128GB SDXC cards. The cards work fine in my Nikon V1, but the Nikon D7000 does not accept this card, although the Transcend website advises this card for D7000.
I would be interested to hear from others using 128GB cards and experiences with Nikon D7000.

  11.
Apurva,
you will enjoy your D800 soooo much, especially when you use it with some decent lenses on it.
Very best greetings from another D800 user.

  12.
I own a Sigma 50mm lens , 2.8 DG Macro, and it was causing problems on my Nikon D7000.
First i thought the contacts were dirty or a little corroded but this seemed not to be the problem.
After cleaning the contacts the camera was still not working as it should.
Close to my office is an official repair facility for Sigma lenses, and the person was very helpful.
He called Sigma and this appeared to be a known problem.
The firmware of the lens had to be replaced.
Since i did not buy the lens new but second hand, the costs were not covered by warranty.
For 70 euro's my lens will be as new, and it will be returned in less than a week.
Unexpected problem but solved quickly at reasonable price.

Others may have the same problems that is the reason of my entry on this forum.

Please allow me to use this opportunity to hand my warmest wishes for Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all members.
Buon Natale, Felice Anno Nuovo.

  13. We will know probably tomorrow what the wizz kids from Nikon have packed into the V2. I like the V1 a lot as a small

camera. Especially in combination with the adapter for normal Nikon F lenses.

  14.
this morning i received a message from nikon that new firmware for D800 and D800E has been released.
One part of the update is related to WT4 usage. I use this device.
Will try to install these tomorrow evening.
If there appear any issues i will share.
Best greetings from NL.
