Interesting photo. The expression seems almost more adult than child, almost brooding. I am a little distracted by the out of focus lights on the left. If you remove those i think it has more impact. Nice work

Very peaceful. I thought of the human body when i saw it first. Love the texture and the light.

This is one of those behavioral shots where the action is unpredictable. I was just thinking how amazing it would be to have been able to get the photo facing those two birds!
Nature photography is so cruel. What i do with shots like this is imagine what i could do differently even if i didn't have control to make a bigger impact and better photo and here that would be face on to this pair. I then try to predict that or at least look for that opportunity next time. Its frustrating but the payoff if you get that shot is huge.
Best of luck.

Nice find. Always exciting to find owls. This is pretty typical where they are hidden in shadow and with twigs in the way. Its a good record shot but doesn't stand out because of things beyond your control. The eyes are really important in an owl shot in my opinion and unfortunately it looks like it was napping. Sometimes you can try waiting it out or else you have to move on and hope for the best next time.

Hi Marissa, you have some great photos in your portfolio. Unfortunately I don't think this makes your usual high standard. The hut upright is not vertical and so the image seems tilted. The observation deck just isn't an interesting foreground item and I really am left wanting to see more of the mountains. Looking forward to seeing more soon

Nice job getting the spider in focus with the web. I am not sure why you went for B&W for this. B&W is great for texture but you aren't close enough to the spider for that. I wonder how it would look in colour.

Thanks Nicole. Appreciate the comment.

Dan, Great shot. Wonderful pose and great light. Looks like there was a good reflection too. How does it look with the reflection included?

Thanks Dan. No good shots of the bald eagles. They were too far away to get nice shots but still fun to watch. Hope to get back there this weekend and try to get closer. Saw your photos. Very nice indeed.

On a wonderful day, I had 5 bald eagles playing tag, several northern
harriers and then this peregrine falcon did a fly by. What a
wonderfully marked bird. Appreciate any comments or criticisms. Thanks

Caught this red tailed hawk in flight as it was moving to another tree
to hunt from. Please let me know what you think of the photo and how
it could be improved. thanks

Managed to catch this snowy egret in the act of snapping up its lunch.
The red lores also were more unusual during breeding season. Let me
know what you think. thanks

Nice bird. Appreciate that you had little time to capture. Might have gone for the vertical to include the legs and given a little room so the tail feather isnt cut off. Good exposure

You stopped the action very nicely here. A few things might help improve the photo for next time: looks like this was taken in the middle of the day, for white birds this causes them to be easily overexposed as on the head here, try earlier or later in the day; your horizon (the beach) is not straight, always keep horizons straight; putting the bird above or below the horizon helps with a clean background. Try these out. You will probably like the results. Good luck

A cormorant caught a nice sized trout which put up a good fight. There
is a series of 4 photos showing the struggle in one of my folders
which ended with the fish being swallowed whole. It reminded me of a
snake swallowing its prey. The light was not the best, too strong and
i could probably have used a polarizer but i think the photos capture
the action. What do you think?

Found this Great Egret in full breeding colours with orange bill and
greenish lores at sunset. Any comments appreciated. Thanks
