  1. This hand-built wheel was gorgeous. (It has now been riden on and has

lost some luster.) I wanted to find a flattering way to display it.

    I hope that I succeeded.

Excellent. I love the composition. Some "pop" could take this image from excellent to outstanding. Possibly some well-defined drops of water, additional sharpness, or softer lighting? Great work, though.

This image has potential, but could use improvement in my opinion. Consider using a uv/haze filter (if you didn't already) and sharpening and increasing contrast in Photoshop. You might also consider a composition with the horizon not on the midline of the frame -- either mostly sky or mostly mountains.
  2. I like the concept here, I think it would be better with less sharpness on the blue specks. The detail on the small scale distracts my attention from the interesting things happening on the larger scale.
  3. Thanks for the comment, Michael. I appreciate it. I agree that the photo would be improved on a day with greater contrast between the snow on the roof and the sky. (I actually worked a bit in Photoshop to get the contrast that's there.) One limitation I had was that it was overcast each of the few days that I was on site. Also, after thinking about that farm in bright summer colors (see of other photos in that collection) for quite a while, it was a huge contrast to see the muted colors and high-key shades of white laid out before me. I'd like to take this shot again in different weather.

I should note that one's monitor calibration matters a lot for this photo. The sky and and the snow on the barn differ by about 10-20 RGB values. If the white point or the gamma is set improperly, they would blend together completely.
