I love the sort of "smiky" effect of the shadows here. I actually think a little more space above the head would help the composition a bit, though I realize you'd then lose the cool shadow at the bottom of the frame.

The texture/color is a separate photo overlayed in Photoshop. Kind of like the old "sandwich slide" technique. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Great one, Robert. I've been trying to make this picture for years and I can never get the lighting just right. I especially like the curve of the belly coming into the frame from the left. Excellent.
