I've used this concept before, but I'm trying to improve the execution. Comments
welcome. Thanks.

The wreath/crown forms a sort of window, but as it leads to relatively blank space I'm not sure what the window is showing me. THis may be a good thing. Though the question is not answered, at least I think about it. On a technical note, lovely toning and colors, as always.

Hi, Robert,
Lovely lighting for her look, and a nice composition, with her glance into the negative space. My only "complaint" if you will is the little strands of frizzy hair around her face- my eye wants to follow her eyes, but I'm led to these bits of hair that sort of distract me and interrupt the story. Conversely, the wisps of hair above her ear do a nice job of fading things into shadow on the right side.

Very well done. The trail of beans (if that's what they are) makes a nice path through to the destination, and mimics the vertebrae, which is a nice touch. It's humorous, but more than simply a joke.

Thanks, David. By all means, let me know if/when you upload your photo; I'd love to check it out.

Beautiful and somewhat mysterious. The children become almost mythical figures.

Thanks very much for your recent detailed critique on one of my photos. I've actually done some macro-garlic photos recently as well, and I think you've found a good specimen- nice surface textures that are well-rendered, and the depth of the individual cloves reads well. The hint of a reflection underneath helps to ground the subject rather than leaving it floating in a void. If anything, I'd almost want to dodge that just a bit to reinforce that piece of information; it may increase the "solidity" or mass of the garlic.

Alternate crop of previous image. Comments welcome.

Lovely light, though I wish there was just a bit more shadow detail- some definition in her hair and the dark part of her face would be nice. I love the hair swirling around the breast and the shadow that wraps around her belly and rib cage.

Nicely done (and not easy). I like the definition of the spine in particular.

This is excellent. The composition, skin texture and three-dimensionality are all wonderful. Great work.

This entire series is very lovely. Nice placement of a beautiful model in a great environment.

I'm not sure the color tint is helpful, but otherwise this is a beautiful image.

Very lovely. The shadow of the nipple is beautiful, as is the skin texture.

I use a Lensbaby for nudes and it's a very fun lens. There's a lot of luck involved (at least using my camera, since Canon hates for people to use manual focus), but when you really nail an image it's a wonderful quality.
Having said that, I love this one, David. Great use of the special effect, and nice smeary colors.

The dramatic light, the pose, off-center placement and the mottled shadows on the background give this a sort of mysterious narrative quality. The shape of her right leg/hip is particularly nice.

This is just beautiful, Robert. The skin tones and texture are amazing, and the diagonal mass of the body is a wonderful shape. You should make a trypdich of your previous image, this one, and the belly button- the same basic image, but zooming in closer each time. Regards to your model as well.

I promise it's only a few weeks old! Thanks for the comment.
