Thank you both for the kind comments. The lighting is a single softbox positioned about one meter above the model's head, with the back of the box even with her head to let the light "spill" in front of her.

Comments are welcome; thanks.

A reallt interesting crop. I'd like to see either a little more space at the upper left corner or none at all- the little sliver of black seems a bit unbalanced. But the layout is great and I love the look of the flesh where the thigh pushes against the belly.

Really beautiful light in the image, and the way her face enters the frame is brilliant. If anything, I think you could crop a little off the bottom- I think a slightly more compact frame would benefit the xomposition a bit. Anyway, very well done.

Beautiful, Haleh. The way the model's body separates the 2 different backgrounds is very intriguing.

Comments are welcome; thank you.

A wonderful composition with great cropping, especially the way her face comes into the frame. However, it appears you've photoshopped out her skin texture, with a rather plastic-looking result. Isn't she beautiful as-is?

One of your best, Robert. Great composition and wonderful rendering of the skin texture. Not much more I can say about it.

Very nice expressive gesture, and great skin tones. I wish the fingers weren't blurred! I know, I'm always droning on about hands, but in this case it's really relevant- the image draws my eyes towards the fingers as the "destination point" but than I end up feeling somewhat cheated because they're not quite sharp. The use of negative space is quite nice, especially the little bit at the small of her back.

An unfortunate film-fogging incident forced me into suboptimal cropping. However, I did not
want to abandon the image. Comments are welcome; thanks as always.

This is indeed an interesting lighting setup, and I like how you've achieved a dramatic effect by contrasting just her skin with her hair. The light on the shoulders is lovely. I kind of wish her fingers weren't cropped, mainly because my eye gravitates toward hands and she's got such a great gesture going on- it's a shame we can't see all of it.

Thank you for the kind words, Amar. I'm very glad you have enjoyed this image.

Haleh, I have had several negative and even angry comments since I began to watermark my photos, but sadly it is necessary for me, so I understand and support your doing so. It is unfortunate that many people do not respect the work of others.
As to the photo, like all of your work, it is wonderful. I could talk about the tones and textures, but I would rather say this: I understand your comment about respecting your models. It truly shows in your work! You are working with a beautiful model, but very importantly I see her in these photos as not just a pretty face or nice body, but as a beautiful *person.*
I have learned that nude photography is more than just technique and skill, but it is a matter of respect and trust between the photographer and the model. It is something I strive for in my own work, and something I really admire about yours. Sorry for writing so much. Thanks as always for sharing.

This is excellent! Great composition and use of the swirly pattern. The light looks beautiful on this model's body too.

Great expression, and very nice light on the model's body and face. I like the graininess, but I'm not sure about the flowers- are those added after the fact? I'm just not convinced that they contribute to the photo, which is a very lovely portrait in its own right.

Light painting: a fun technique indeed. Nicely done.

Really well done. Nice color and lighting, and it's expressive without being overly dramatic. I think the hot spot in the background is a bit too bright, but otherwise quite good.
-
Gary, I appreciate your useful critiques on my work, and I will try to offer the same. I think this could benefit from just a little more light without spoiling the mystery of the half-hidden face. In particular, my eye wants to see the fingers a little more clearly, as that seems to be where the important gesture is happening. But the mood is very nice, and I love the twist of her back.

Unmanipulated film photo; all visual effects created in-camera.

Great idea, and very well-done. As others have said, the model's expression is great. Excellent work.

This is a beautiful photo. I love the contrasting textures of the water and ice, and the inclusion of the 2 tiny figures for scale is fantastic.
-
Thanks, Alexis. I appreciate your input, as I respect your work a great deal. Regards.

I don't recall seeing an image of this sort from you before, David. This is very nice. Of course I'm a sucker for shallow DOF. I love the crop of the model's chin.

Lovely pose and great textures. The image has a nice feel to it. I like that we can see some dirt on the model's body- it helps integrate her into the environment.
