...impact from this photo. The texture of the plumage, the almost completely featureless background and of course the skill in capturing this hunt. 7/7 from me.

I like the snag Ian. Without it, you still would not have symmetry, unless you digitally removed the snag. incidentally 'snag' is Aussie slang for sausage.
Your landscapes are so evocative of Scotland's beauty - makes me pine for the place.

I don't think so - it adds a great surreal atmosphere. - Excellent foresight!

Striking composition, but a very false looking sky in my opinion, would like to see it without 'burn-in'.

Graeme,
This is brilliant. I'm not sure why you add a highlit frame effect on LHS and bottom, but I love the contrast between the excellent texture of the buildings and the black sky and water. Ghent made a great impression on a day's drive up from Paris when working there in 2002. My album is at : http://travel.webshots.com/album/56075128EZTlPg. Cheers, David

Trying conditions for photography, but this captures nature and animals trials of living in the raw, so to speak.

No, this is completely natural, it's only a weathered branch about 30mm diameter - the wonders of the Australian bush!

This is a marvellously conceived and executed landscape, however I find the sky I little too saturated over the cliffs. The seagull adds a lot to the atmosphere. Like a good landscape, it makes you want to be there and to explore the scene.

... this photo has lots of it! I agree it seems a little bit underexposed. I would also really like to know at least the State, for the intrinsic added value since it is a landscape photo. For me, a photographer who does not supply these details fears being copied.

...but it's a chance to put my brother 'Fred' on the Web, so what the heck!
He's riding a TZ250 racing 2-stroke Yamaha, at Kirkistown Circuit in Co. Down,
N. Ireland. Taken with a cheapish Sigma zoom lens and scanned on a Canoscan film-scanner.

Bertil - I think this is excellent! I love the composition, the high contrast, the light on the roof tiles, and the shape of the cirrus cloud mirroring the lines of the roof gable at left.
My mind vaguely remembers this type of ornate church when I visited Scandinavia on a motorcyle trip from Ireland, in 1981!

a very creative masterpiece!!! Wonderful that at your first attempt at motorcycle racing shots, you achieved this original look at the sport. Apologies for the late comment, following your own comment on my Australian Moto GP 2005 shot. regards, David.

What an amazing range of colours in this natural landscape! I love the many lauers in the composition, the intense blue of th efar hillside, and the moddy highlight of the weak sun. The story behind the picture also adds to the sense of achievement.

Neno,
The lighting seems tricky in this shot - better light at left. I would suggest raising the brightness without flaring out the highlights on the left. Also, it's a shame that the elbow of the guitarist is lost. Regards, David
