...this is the F/A-18F Super Hornet. Australia has just ordered 24 and we have 71 of the earlier F/A-18A and B models. I have worked with the squadrons as a defence engineer-scientist for many years. Here in Oz our air force operates them - all grey!

Pankaj,
This is quite a charming shot, but would be much better if you had stood so that the tree does not appear to grow out of the child's head. It would also be improved of you had waited for the group of people to pass out of the picture.

Creates a real sense of space. The muted colours work well for me, including the glacial grey of Lake Wanaka. I love the composition and the clouds showing evidence of strong winds.

Has a wonderful romantic quality. I think the flowers being unfocussed are fine in this composition. Very original!

Wonderful composition and depth of field. The rock at bottom right and the reeds lead the eye in nicely to the distant moor.

Birte, I am so envious!
I had a memorable eveing in the Yarra Valley a few years ago - at a work retreat. Two huge moths showed up - looks like one was an Emperor Moth - although I had no idea at the time. My shots were taken with a 10D and a 70-200 f4 L lens - nothing as good as your photo. Perhaps you could confirm the 'beastie' or otherwise?? - thanks, David

I love this atmospheric piece of art! The only suggestions I make are that I would have preferred more room to the left of the tree - it's slightly cropped by the frame - and I would also have liked the horse a bit more to the left, so it has more room to run into the picture.
Anyone for heat?
