It really looks very artifical to me - as soon as I opened the image. You mentioned the process - good work, but again, does nit feel natural at all
-
The whole set up and models look way too artificial for me - may be a good shot for some theme or project, does not stand alone as a piece of art for me. Good thing is that it looks like the photographer spent a lot of effort to find models and dress them up, but the lack of imaginative lighting and/or background/set up does not take it to any higher level than ordinary

Never saw a red sea like that - did you manipulate in PS? The sky looks great, but the sea is unnatural - may be a little undersaturation will improve this
-
May be it's just me - but the sky looks unnaturally oversaturated which destroys the mood of the rest of the image

Thanks Emre for honest feedback - looks like I have to tune it further to maintain a harmony of lighting
-
Emre: The photo is a composite, but both photos taken on the same morning - pretty much from the same location. The sea view was shot almost looking at the same angle from the sun as I shot the door to ensure light directions match (the original view behind the door was distratcting - see "Greece" folder in my portfolio - and my vision was to combine it with a simple sea background). I guess what fooling you is that I darkened the sea shot a lot to emphasize the light and shade on indoor floor and wall. May be I should have left it a little brighter to avoid the confusion

good potrait

Happy birtday to you..other than that, it looks like a snapshot.

Leaves must leave- I would have prefered a compo w/ the branch - it adds nothing as a fireground interest

In my humble opinion, this is a very weak photo. I really dont get the use of those artificial lines as a replacement of sea. With the original sea in place, it would have a very ordinary photo as well - as there is nothing particularly interesting about it - neither light nor subject. My guess is that the photogrpaher tried to save an otherwise ordinary image by experiementing w/photoshop.

A serene photo - well exposed and composed ..your work is inspiring

stunning

Can't agree more with Robert's comment. The compo is too-centered, but very well seen

Classic shot...I wonder whether a warmer sky would have more complemented the warmth of the reddish rock or whether this blue-red contrast is more pleasing. However, great control of exposure and the composition stands out - very very good work

Like it..light is very soothing. However, color saturation could have been stronger and composition w/o the branch at upper right corner

Al - I think the problem is that you have too many computer altered surrealist photos in your portfolio to make people think that this photo is like those images too. But I wonder why we dont trust the photographer when he says how he made the image - why will he lie in a forum like this? This is a great photo and I trust your remarks about how real this photo is. The reflection looks like digitally enhanced - that's the only thing that jumped at me when I saw it - the reflection is too good to be true. But so what? It's a rendition of your vision... Ignore those negative comments - Thanks.

Wonderful light and pose - I am wondering whether cropping out lower part of the grass improves the picture or not. The reason that the grass is in sharp focus distract me a little - I would also clone out the fence in the background. Good portrait - love it

John - thanks for your comments. You are right - I am more of a landscape shooter - dont even have the right gears to do much willife or macro. But once in a while, when opportunity presents itself, I give it a try. This one was shot on a rainy Maine day - when there was not much to do but testing lobster and wondering how beautiful Maine looks in rain! Really! this one was taken by using a (SB-800) fill-in flash on my D70 and 80-200 Nikon lens (my favorite lens in the kit) - using a monopod for stability. Later in PS, I worked on the background to dark it down and blurred even more and bumped up contrast and sharpness on the bird. Almost wanted to add a catchlight on the eye - but did not to better reflect the reality of a misty day.

I think that some PS correction needed as mentioned by Piotr - more contrast on the mountain, some color correction of the shadow with a little more contrast add - and selective sharpening - that's all you need. Also somehow I felt the photo is not level - it's tilted from right to left
