Very nice abstract treatment, and use of colors. Multiple planes add an almost mystical quality.

Thank you, Jack. I was on my way to bed when I saw my wife sitting in this wonderful light. I added a pinhole camera effect and toning in post.

Thank you, Vincent.

Not a contrived portrait, this image seems more photojournalistic to me. If the out-of-focus boat detail on the left had been consciously employed in some better way, or had the head of the subject been moved off-center it would have improved technical elements, but perhaps lost the spontaneity of this version. Subject, side lighting and B&W treatment make it for me. It's not an image I'd hang on the wall, but it will hang around in my memory for some time.

I hope heaven will be as beautiful! Subject, composition, tonal curve, color - all 10 out of 10 for me.

My wife and I have a granddaughter about this age, too. We are so filled with joy to see this wonderful photo. Monochrome and sepia are perfect! Simple joys like this moment are the best!

Subject, atmosphere, composition, and color with that touch of red - perfect!

Brent, this is a stunning photo. My wife and I were fortunate to be at a sunset there in 2001. Your photo is like being there again. Thank you!

One of a number of really fine photos in your portfolio. Composition and color are especially good. Did you apply a bit of HDR?

This is a fine visual testimony to the forces of nature on maritime operations! I gather that you live either near the SW shore of Lake Michigan, or Chicago area. I've enjoyed your gallery very much. (Live in Port Washington, WI on the lake, too.)

Fantastic, dynamic landscape in profoundly good light. Low vantage point composition is exquisite, as are the colors.

Excellent timing and focus! 1-2-3-4, all fish there, in a skillful capture. (The bird's skills, and yours!)
-
Beautiful light and subject, delicate mono tones rendered skillfully.
-
Amazing capture. Top of composition is just a bit clipped off, otherwise great simultaneous capture of moving subject and his shadow.

Jim - Your wonderful comments on your photo greatly increased its impression on me. Thank you, for the hope expressed.

Best face in the sky I've seen. Post processing enhances the effect. I mistakenly posted a photo of my own earlier, thinking this was another No Words thread. Please excuse the error, or moderator remove. Thanks

A wonderful image! All elements are present: impact, technical, composition. As a viewer I am so drawn to the eye!

I'm guessing it's a flyover, and people might be reacting in various ways to either the military or stunt connotations. It's an effective photo for me. The crowd seems expressive as an organism in total. This is good in monochrome.

A really stunning photo. In the current Earth Day contest were I a judge, this would be the winner hands down.

This is an excellently captured photo. The interesting tree trunk shapes form a perfect frame for the setting sun, and I think it's placed just right. Nice star patterns, too. Color is very effective, and exposure is just right. Just one suggestion: beautiful as the sky is, I would suggest cropping the photo as above. I hope it's okay that I went ahead with it, but wanted it to appear below my text. Thank you, for posting this beautiful photo.

Scott's subject must have been to Wisconsin, this winter! A fabulous image for all reasons Fred G has included.
