nice. Like the mountain, too. The tree on the far left would have made a nice piece of foreground! Taking the photo lower to the ground with a lower horizon would show less dark ground and more sky.
  1. Looks good but I wonder if you could emphasize the beautiful vaulted ceilings more if you had taken it from very low to the floor. A little smoke or dust in the air would also make the sunbeams more striking. Nice photo though!
  2. The exposure is during the day, about 10 am as I remember. I shot these on Bulb with various times. As I got more experience I think I overdid it on the fog here and the water would have looked better with shorter exposures, more texture and flow. Anyway, I didn't have much time as two surfers wearing bright orange decided to play by the ship a little after I was shooting. I also only had two days in Salinas, so I didn't have too many choices in how to do it.
  3. Something doesn't look right about the sharpness, especially the buildings in front of and behind the castle are quite sharp, but the castle itself isn't as sharp, and there is a big line where the background hill meets the foreground buildings, and the line around the castle is odd... It looks to me like at least a composite of two photos, especially the hill in the back with the great sky. I don't know, it's a nice composition, but there's something my eye doesn't believe.

I am not sure if this is a normal thing for elephants to do, or a

special thing I happened to catch. I liked the way that the

composition worked out, but is it special?

I disagree, I like the wood and lighting. We all see skulls with fog and blue lighting, to make them look scary, but the plain wood and the coins suggest a different atmosphere around these bones. I like how it is different.

Need to be careful taking pictures of Wild Weiner Dogs in Nature. They often roam the plains in herds, and no one can escape a stampede of these majestic animals.
  4. I agree that you shouldn't choose not to shoot often-taken shots. I thought bridges were pretty much off-limits for photos after Sept.11th, though. The composition is nice, but the colors look a bit strange. I think the one thing that stands out to me is the color of the sand, how it is brighter than the border of water. Looks like you did some curves adjustments to me... Also something else to look for is the two plumes of cloud coming up from the bridge in my opinion are distracting.
