  1. Not everyone has the same needs, and the above advice certainly suits some of us. I have, and really like, an old Epson 837, all-in-one that does a good job on photos, and other household needs for text and graphics content. It has never clogged, and I do not print regularly. That said, Costco serves some of my photo printing needs as well. I'm in the situation where I cannot justify buying a more expensive printer for my meager use. A friend of mine has 3 837's, 2 3800's, a4900, and a 9890, and he prints a lot. I have zero experience with a Canon printer, so I can't comment on them.
  2. Sure. I don't know about Canon. but Epson spent a cool 2 billion on their ink manufacturing, so the inks ought to b e good.
  3. Textured and yellow, so I get a double bonus?
  4. From another castle......

No, it was this site being slow, not any AV software.
  7. Agreed, it timed out on me multiple times yesterday, and is also very slow today. Thanks for the response on the 35.
  8. Currently enjoying a 15% discount, until later this month. Remarks?
  9. I have no issue with eating game, but most of it is too "gamey" for my taste.
  10. Well, a topic that I can really get into, and perhaps with something new for the readers. This is a fine Sunday breakfast of Chicken Fried Steak Benedict, with a dusting of cayenne accompanied by fried potatoes. ;o)
  11. Refurb, yuck. I know some have had good luck with Nikon refurbs, but I see it as taking an unnecessary chance. KEH gives twice the warranty on used that Nikon does on refurbs. Plus, I trust KEH's inspections to be more reliable than Nikon's. YMMV
  12. I'm with Dieter in so much as I'm a strong believer in the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" adage, but, I'm also intolerant of sub-optimal cosmetics. That undoubtedly says more about me than it does about whether or not a repair is necessary. Still, I would find it distracting to have that bubble in the covering, even though it would not effect the images. YMMV
  13. Seems to me that I read where in the last week or so that the D7200 was showing as discontinued on Nikon's Japanese site. That would make sense with the release of the D7500. Of course with camera sales slowing, Nikon could look to cut the price on remaining D7200 stock. I got my D7200 for $996 last month, and got another $150 off of the 70-300 AFP, so I don't feel too bad. I just could not justify a D500 for my use, although it was hard to pass up the combo deal with the grip and 16-80 lens. But, weight counts now more as I hear the end of my 70's , and the D500 is already heavier than the D7200 even without counting the grip on the D500. On the other side of that I'd probably be just as well served with 20MPs, but one has to make choices, and I only paid half of what the D500 deal would have cost in buying my D7200. I did add the Sigma 17-50 2.8 because it is touted as being the sharpest zoom for DX. Circumstances have kept me from really wringing the D7200 out with any lens. I did manage the first few snaps with the Sigma 17-50, but the 70-300 AFP has not even been mounted yet. What is clear is that I need to work on my technique, what worked with my D200's 10 MPs does not with the D7200's 24 MPs. Now we are in the Arizona summer heat, where "only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the noonday Sun!", so we're in a holding mode. ;o)
  14. Yes indeed! Ignore all responses that do not meet your criteria. Look until you find one that urges you to do as you'd like, in spite of the years of experience from the majority telling you not to. Brilliant! Epson spent 2 billion dollars building their ink plant, but you've outsmarted them, you clever devil! Or maybe not......
