  1. I'd be interested in comments about that lens body combo before and after the FW update, if you can post any.
  2. Dieter, have you shot the DX 70-300 on the D7200 since the FW update? If so, what can you offer about it?
  3. HO exhibit today. D7200/Sigma 17-50
  4. Did you see that thing that Dieter posted?
  5. I’m not goin* to try to anticipate what Adobe might do. I’m going with Classic, and if they do something’s no different down the road, I’ll deal with it then.
  6. The Lightroom Queen, Victoria Bampton, will have a new book out on the new Lightroom versions in about 2 weeks. In the meantime you might try going to her website and asking in the forum there.
  7. Just a way to keep track of screws that works very well in replacing HD in an iMac. Get a roll of blue painter's tape, and as you dismantle, tear off a small section of the tape or each screw to attach to, then stick the tape with the screw attached as close to where it goes on the device. Now, you don't lose screws, or confuse which one goes where. HTH
  8. My Pro-100 will be here on Friday, but, I'm going to California for a week on Thursday, so I won't be able to do anything with it until late next week when I get back.
  9. I have always wanted to try a Canon printer and this current Pro-100 price makes it almost free. I do keep my displays profiled with the i1Pro. We'll see how I fare with the Pro-100. I'll need some smaller paper sizes for the Pro-100 too, everything does not get printed at 13X19! ;o)
  10. 13X19 w/50 sheets of glossy paper? Are you kidding? No way I'm passing this up for a lousy $59! Thanks, Jeff, Adorama says mine is on the way.
  11. Yes and no. Once the next upgrade comes there will be no way out unless one tries to stay with Sierra or prior OSen. Doing that will eventually put one out of business due to a lack of support for old software and OSen.So, no, you don't have to upgrade, you can simply go into a corner and die. But, that is not what most will want to do, so yes will apply for most of us. The point of all of this is that at some point one must upgrade, or take up knitting. Let's not forget that High Sierra is tuned for SSDs too, so keep that in mind as the clock winds down. I just bought 2 new Macs here as replacements, and both have SSDs. Spinners are on the way out, like floppy disks, and optical media. HDs and hybrids (Fusion) are okay for backups and storage for awhile, but those days are numbered too. Remember when Apple went from PPCs to Intel Macs we lot the use of a lot of software, and the next upgrade will kill 32 bit apps. JDM has good advice, at least wait for the .1 update before jumping on High Sierra. The Macs I bought were from existing stock as High Sierra was released so I'm still on Sierra, for now.
  12. Well, you get to give it a go at no personal expense beyond the cost of the 3rd party inks, your papers, and the investment of your time and energy. Running out of ink is a problem that can plague most of us, and I agree, it's a PITA! Good luck with it.
  13. Thanks, but we disagree about using 3rd party inks. Far too many horror stories to go with them for the meager savings and possible lower quality that they produce. I don't know anything about Canon inks, but I can tell you nobody makes ink for Epson printers that match Epson ink quality and coverage. 3rd party inks can also screw up your profiles unless you're making your own, or having them made to match your papers. Just not worth it to me.
  14. Good review, but 4 years old. Has Canon updated, or replaced the printer since then? BTW, I saw it at B&H yesterday fpr $399 with a $250 mail in rebate, making it $150 to own.
