How come no comments? These are clever.

These are really interesting. I wouldn't want to see them within a larger context. Just perfect as you abstracted them! Tones are great.
Excellent I say. You probably coulda used a hand warmer while you were out there - could I interest you in a slightly used "Nikon" hand warmer? wink, wink, ;-)

Hey Nicole. Well, I only got off 3 shots of this, this one having the most flames. I didn't want to let it burn too long 'cuz I have more plans for the little guy.... Thanks as always for your comments. Ciao.
-
Well Walt, as usual, a great response. Comments like those keep me coming back here every once in a while. Thanks man...

They're real flames courtesy of Zippo lighter fluid.
I rubber-banded a lightbox to the front of my tripod for a little extra light. The camera was "toast" before I shot this, and not worth the money to have it repaired. Took a fall with it's user about a year ago. She healed, the camera didn't.
This is NOT a statement about any particular brand, but I must say, it held up very well, so, yes, I have more adventures planned for the little guy...

No flash required.

Nicole, I was panning with the birds so that's why the trees have the motion, not the birds. I tried it the other way around yesterday to see what I could get. I'll post it here a bit later. PS involved was just a rotate, crop and a little burning. Don't know what you're missing - let me know if you come up with it. Good to hear from ya...

Classic WT & didymium combo. Beautiful - enough said.

P.S. Just looked to see what lens you used - love your copyright!

Ah, a refreshing point of view here. Nice one. Even the landing-pad is different than most.

Couldn't you have whistled at it to make it turn it's head for a second and catch the light? Still very cool... Nice title, nice moment.

Love the big arc the two birds' wings form. Nice comp and colors. And the lighting - you sure know the time to wait for to make these images... Cheers.

Sorry, now that I pointed it out, and view again, it doesn't seem to bother me. oops...
-
You needn't bother him - I was just curious about your camera shutter speed. I was guessing 1/250th.

Walt, I see that you did get some nice autumn colors on your trip. I like how you "emphasized" the crutches with flash. Well done. Thanks for the explanation - I was wondering why people "entering" wouldn't have their own crutches. Nice image.

The "natural" cracks are fine, but I'm not sure about that straight expansion joint through her head. Could just be me... probably is... ???
