  1. Daniel: I've got a couple shots of this same tree and similar set-up in my Landscapes folder. This is nice, but seems a bit monotone with so much middle-value. It's great though considering the time of shooting--late morning. I'll keep looking through your portfolio. cc
  2. I am never going back to Balanced Rock again. I'm hoping that I can

live with at least one of the images I've created in the past 2

months and countless trips up there in rain/snow/sun and whatever

else. Thanks--I'd appreciate your input. cc

  3. The reflection is lost 3 feet to the left unfortunately. Also, there were a couple road signs between myself and Balanced rock so I had to juggle obscuring them with angle and/or vegetation. Thanks for the comments. cc
  4. I've been trying for some time this fall/winter to get a great

reflection of Balanced Rock in Arches N.P.. It's much more difficult

than I had originally thought as the best reflecting pools are on

the back (shady) side of the formation. Then there's the issue of

clouds--Great light with No clouds, or Poor Light with Great

Clouds. This is a compromise between the options. cc

I like the composition and the tones--all the whites with just enough detail to make it "pop". It seems pretty over-processed digitally though (like the color rainbows in the shadow areas). Overall, pretty cool. cc
  5. This one is the best of the 3 I've seen so far--I like the movement in the foreground compared with the steadfast tree in the distance. The very warm light works well also with the strong black of the tree. cc
