Hanna, I try not to leave one liner comments, but when I see an image I really like so much so that I wish it were mine.....I can only say its beautiful and I love it! I especially like the soft blur that surrounds the flower - strong feel of impressionist.

I feel the cold looking at this scene in the Spring :) This is very beauitiful Rui, the heavy misty fog give a quiet but tranquil feel.
-
The moon is rather too subtle - had you not mentioned it Sam, I may not have noticed it for a bit. Though, not sure how you might improve on that without losing the nice milky overall of the sky. I like the way you used the branches to frame the shot, a small pity is the dark branch coming so close to the back of the bird's head. She must have been a beauty to see in real life.

Thank you everybody for the kind words. David, this was taken in the national museum of Shanghai. It was very much the geometry of lines that caught my eye, the placement of people was a lucky after event. PS - funny you should stopby, I was in Hyde Park climbing around tulips this morning and wondered if you were in the park at the same time taking your classic people shots in speakers corner :)

Maybe its the warm colours or maybe because I can see clearly either way I like this very much. Must have a go at this 'blending'.

Many thank yous' everyone for the very nice words.

Thank you Galina and Robert. I did make it up and out early that morning, but by the time of this shot it was near mid-day. Lucky the day was pretty grey so light was not too bad. Apart from a crop at the top and contrast I pretty much left this alone. Could probably have burnt in the blacks a bit more.

Thank you Leslie, Galina, Betsy and Robert for taking the time to stop by and leaving me kind words. This 'stolen' shot was taken in Kyoto, the man sat in his restaurant across a small river from me. I managed 2 clicks before running scare of his disapproving glare:) Rob, I had not noticed my film 'blacks' are less black then my digital blacks - must ckeck - interesting...though here, I did select the background and levelled it darker. Maybe with film, I fiddle less. Either way with my limited PS skills, you can be sure I know no tricks - if anything works its always pure luck and by accident. Thank you all again.

Hmm...the tweaked version doesn't work for me. Its lost the interesting details of the original. For me, just a crop of about an inch at the bottom would do fine.

I like the finished result of this and the warm earthtone colours. The image looks almost painted.
-
Then comes the question did you have the finished image in your head before digging out the necessary 3 negs to create it? More then Photoshop skills its also about the creative mind:) PS...have you looked at the 'no words' forum? It looks no-pressure fun, I keep mean to find time to take part there :)

Lines going this way, that way and every which way give a strong abstract feel to this caputre and b&w lends itself to the minimalist feel. I'd be tempted to crop a tad off the bottom just so the eye doesn't get caught up with the left corner of the bench.

Just enough light indeed - the spot on focus is well...spot on :) The vains on the flower give interest to the eye to travel around. The background flower is so well positioned that its almost a mirror image of the spotlite flower. For my eye, the blub branch on the left is a tad too prominent, I wonder if the compostion might work better if the camera angle was just slightly more to the left?

David, you always seem to bring such rich tonal ranges into your images. Many of your captures have a feel of yesteryear. This boy surrounded by moving/rushing grownups show an expression of needing help - reminds me of wartime saddness.
I live mintures from HP but seem only to see ducks & runners :)

A black and white flower always stands out, probably without colour in the way the 'soul' appears :) Faced with a flower shot, I'm always in two minds if to waste the colour or not. Here, the frame/angle/composition is nice. Think I might prefer the back flower to be slightly more blurred or darkened a tad, but no big deal.

The awe of this sight must feel the long wait worth it:) The light on the hills is pure magic the rainbow the topping. The dark contrast of the foreground, to my eye is slightly too dark, but in no way take away from the feeling you convey.

Tranquil and beautiful almost abstract. I'm always on the lookout for scenes like this :) Be interesting to see this in B&W, but then the rich colours will be missed - difficult call.

Being a sometime walker in the park and so much crime in this city nowadays, this image is a bit scary! The thought of someone sitting low in the left corner there just watching.......! I haven't any ideas how one blend images in PS, but the result here is interesting, the chain fence doesn't bother me, it adds to the overall lone quiet feel.

A quitity of other worldliness which you are a master at. I guess the shadows on the other side of the shutter do give feelings of 'figures', certainly add eye interest. I had a play/look at this in B&W with a blue filter, that was interesting too :)

Hi B....Wales is full of mountains and sealines -lookforward to lots of landscapes from you shortly :) This I took so many moons ago that if my life depended on it, I could hardly tell you how it looked in real life, but take it I did since in those days, there was only one photographer in the family:)

Hi Maggie....That 'backpack' is actually a bamboo chair :)

Oh my, what a sad moment to have frozen. The light in her eyes, for whatever reason has long gone, coupled with her deep lined face and worn bars tell a story of deep sadness.
