Hi David, this is a really nice image. Have you tried cropping just a little off the sky? IMHO, the result may strengthen the image and focus the eye on the wonderful details of the building.

Thank you everyone for your comments.
I had worried that this may be too much of a grabshot but all the dogs together looked unusual to me.....wished to share. Glad you like it.
Ilia, I share your feeling of 'sad' seemed they were too controled.
Harry, this hunt was not a big event, just a small village weekend gathering it seemed.
Thank you again everyone.

Thank you Minhn & Dorian for your comments.
I'm a learner on PS still, don't think I did a good job on the background blur. Tried to blur the background because otherwise the restaurant would distract from the main subject of the old man.
-
Hardly any camera setup time to speak of - these dogs were gone a
second after this shot. Too much of a grabshot?

Hello Csab' thank you for your comment.
I stood watching a Fox-hunt getting ready to move out...these dogs were trained to stand tightly ready, only had eyes for the trainer. Some sight when they did go.

Thank you Timo, Dorian & Ilan for your kind comments.
I decided on the 'grainy' mid-grey background on this image because the orginal shot with a clear blue sky looked to me less graphic, more snap shot.
Ilan, I hope the PS work hasn't put you off too much - I have always wished to take a shot of fire-escape stairs like they have in New York, this was the first I saw in London, so went for it!

Black Japanese cooking pot. My aim for the shot was to include
much of the shadows as part of the composition.

Hello Vlad & Michael, thank you for your comments.
Vlad, the ISO setting I used was 100@F8. The backgound was a very clear blue sky before converted to b&w. I added 'noise' to give the image a stronger feel.
Michael, the buildings that I cloned out was low on the left hand side, laced into the steps, I had a choice of crop or clone. Crop would result in one less lot of steps.

Image taken in the bamboo growing region of China. The old man here
is cooking rice, sealed in bamboo tubes for the restaurant (blurred
in the background)

During a Visit to the Potala Palace, saw this monk sitting in peace
by his 'desk' in the warm sunshine.
I would appreciate views as to if you think there are too many
elements in the image, and any general thoughts for improvement.

I looked into your folders (hope you don't mind!), you have a wonderful collection of images. I like this one especially for the light you have captured on the old girl's face.

Malcolm, more then a cute shot. Baby's eye's SPEAK. Well done.

Hello Louis, thank you very much for going to the trouble of showing me another way - sometimes one can get too close that one doesn't see any other ways!
I do like your version of the crop here, but her face has somehow lost the morning sun shine? I remember feeling lucky getting her standing looking straight into the new morning sun, which gave her whole front that golden glow.
Please don't delete this, its nice to have your version.
Thank you again for time spent on it.

PS - I have another one (of the same time) of a vegetable bearer, which I'll put up another time, look forward to your comments.

Paulo, many thanks for your comment.
Daniel, I'm pretty new on PS, will for sure have a go at the gauwwien blur, thank you for the suggestion.

This is a nice capture. I agree with you that as is, the image appears a little flat, have you tried adding more contrast? I also feell you can afford to crop a bit off the top.
The old lady looks 'cute' and has huge ears!
