1.
Panorama of a ConEd worksite on a New York street corner.

 2.
Happy Phriday everyone! Busy day today, will post photo later...

 3.
Edwin: love the panorama. You may have inspired me for next week...

Allen: yet more great B&W phone shots - absolutely love them.

Andy: Memorial Day weekend and car shows go together like chocolate and peanut butter. Delicious photos.

 4.
Whoops, take 2.

 5.
Starting off the Memorial Day weekend right... with random pictures that people have taken with their phones. :)

In honor of doing the long weekend here is a shot I took strictly for practical purposes... I needed to record where the sun is located in late afternoon relative to the tree line so my wife and I can figure out the right placement of some new fruit trees. But I like the way it came out - yay for happy accidents.

 6.
Edwin and Allen, I love these! The improv shot is a great example of the kinds of moments you would just never capture 10 years ago... And that street sweeper photo is just awesome.

 7.
Happy Phriday everyone!

 8.
Happy Phriday everyone!

 9.
Happy Phriday everyone!

 10.
Happy Phriday everyone! Gloomy day in New York yesterday... I want Spring back!

 11.
Happy Phriday everyone!

 12.
The composition with the tools is delightful. :)

 13.
Edwin, your nature photos consistently deliver! Love it.

 14.
Happy Phriday everyone! Still in the 40's here, but it's looking more like Spring all the time...

 15.
Happy Phriday everyone! Here's a shot of the beautiful Spring weather we had in the Northeast this week.

 16.
No joke, it's Friday!

I was in Savannah this past weekend, where (unlike NYC) Spring is very much in the air.

 17.
It's never too early to start celebrating Phriday. Ok, maybe it's too early sometimes, but Thursday night is fine!

Awesome stuff last week! It's really cool to see these little wonder-devices in our pockets being put to creative use.

Yet another NYC sunset... On the one hand it's sort of boring that I keep taking the same photo. On the other hand, Nature's been killing it.

One cool thing you may note if you look at this one vs. prior shots is that the sun is noticeably marching north - this is the first sunset of the year that I could snap from a west-facing window rather than a south-facing window. (For non-New Yorkers, by "west" I mean northwest and by "south" I mean southwest: as befits our general attitude about our city's place in the world, we judge direction by the orientation of Manhattan, not the orientation of the planet :).

One more comment: Apple's in-camera HDR is really good, at least for the limited application I use it for. I have generally not been a big fan of most post-process HDR I've seen because it tends to look (to me) way beyond reality. But the in-camera HDR on this thing does a really good job of capturing the impression I get from standing here viewing the sunset in person. YMMV, of course.

 18.
Happy Friday everyone! Yet another New York sunset in HDR, but what can I say? The phone captures it well!

 19.
Happy Friday everyone!

 20.
That's a great shot!

 21.
Happy Phriday! This shot definitely loses something from the compression to 700 pixels (particularly in the branches near the top, which now just look blurry) but I still like it.

 22.
No photo from me just yet... I'll be back later with something for today, but in the meantime here's the room that's hosting the greatest (mobile-phone-photography-themed) party on the internet!

 23.
A break from the HDR-fest!

 24.
I'm kind of falling in love with in-phone HDR... I've never been much of a fan of HDR work in general, but for capturing the feeling of an in-person sunrise or sunset, it seems to do a great job.

 25.
Another day, another snowstorm! In honor of the bad weather, here's a shot of a beautiful sky over an ugly pile of snow...
