Better late than never! FYI I'll be out of the country the next two weeks, so someone else may need to get these threads started in my absence (though I may have internet access sporadically - we'll see). Happy Phriday(s) in advance to everyone!

Happy Phriday everyone! Spotted out of a random Manhattan window: an architectural detail c. 20 stories up in the Financial District. Given the street layout and the narrow roads down there I'm not even sure it's visible from the ground. You have to love old skyscrapers - it's inconceivable that anything like these two figures would make their way onto an equivalent modern building.

"Dude, does this guy know where Phriday actually falls in the week?" Happy belated Phriday. :) For some reason I always like the juxtaposition you see in NYC of these huge expensive glossy adds on the sides of building adjacent to old worn out parking lots.

Happy Phriday everybody! In keeping with my recent theme of "random things spotted in passing in NYC", here is a photo I took during the 30 seconds my subway car doors were open at Canal Street this morning. It's just a pile of sheets, but on the subway platform.

Happy Phriday everyone! The theme of my week (in real life, not photos) seemed to be "things that only seem like a good idea late at night and/or after a few drinks." This was one of those things.

Happy first Phriday of September! I saw a (dead) Cicada for the first time in Maryland last weekend... I had no idea they were so big! Yikes.
