What Carlos said! This is gripping, puzzling, and funny at the same time. Thanks--I needed that! (Which are you reading lately: Sarte or Camus? Or perhaps for absurdity the NY Times?)
-
Have you been hanging out with Alan Greenspan again? The title tickled me so! (I need some laughs these days.)
-
This gets my highest praise: Erwittian!
-
Ah, comedy....
-
Henry?

I concur with D.G.: magic. Perhaps you are transforming into Gandalf, Jack. That would explain the wizardry in your photographs.
-
As others have pointed out the geometry is lovely, but there is something else here: the pearly tones and the figure on the right suggest there is magic in the air.
-
The rim lighting and the crop create an elegant mystery. I like the "grain" in this photograph, although it appears to be digital in origin.

Wonderful, curious, and witty...
-
A touching image, framed perfectly; the hint of grain and the out of focus face add to the emotional tension. I am a softy: it got me!

Strong sense of being there. Great sense of depth and nice tonality. Did this dog raise Romulus and Remus?
-
Strong image, reminiscent of Paul Strand's "Blind" photograph of the early 1900s. However, I think the excessive contrast works against the image, not for it.
-
Crazy, comic, sublime.

You're giving my funnybone quite a work out lately, Jack, but don't worry, I can take it. In fact I rather need it lately. I love this photograph: the elemental calm of the composition is a delight to the eye and the tones are subtle and yet rich and work to perfection.
-
I agree with Carlos.
-
I rather like this myself; again, it is "just so!"
-
Why am I reminded of the opening to "Sunset Boulevard?" As I recall, William Holden is floating dead in a swimming and narrating the story. I guess every picture tells a story, whether intended or not.
-
It rather looks like the ostriches have come to look at the people. Nice tones--everything works, particularly your persistent dry wit.
-
This harks back to another time in photography; if you had told me that Eve Arnold or Eugene Smith had done this I would have believed it without hesitation. Love the quiet tones and the sense of mystery. This is the real thing. How come you're not with Magnum?

Your Erwittian sense of humor is showing again....
-
I think this may also qualify as comedy, Jack. Truly, Marcel Duchamp's got nothin' on you. I think you're entering your Dada phase. I am delighted to see it.
-
She does, indeed! She's a blue ballerina, dancing through the streets. What a lovely, whimsical photograph, composed with grace and style.

At first I thought it was a martini glass--old habits die hard. (But they did.)
